The week begins Thursday night with the Atlanta Falcons visiting the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. Sunday's slate includes a potential shootout between the Los Angeles Chargers and Buffalo Bills, a Brazil matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys, and the Los Angeles Rams visiting the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football. The Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears close the week Monday night.

Atlanta is making a major change after an ugly 0-2 start, with Michael Penix Jr. returning from last year's ACL tear to make his first start of the season. That's a difficult spot for his return. Green Bay struggled offensively against the Jets but erased a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to win 20-17 in overtime, with the defense carrying much of the load. Penix should eventually provide Atlanta with more upside, but expecting immediate efficiency at Lambeau on a short week feels optimistic. Green Bay should create enough pressure and short fields to win comfortably.

Kansas City is 2-0 and enters Week 3 after Patrick Mahomes threw for 382 yards in an overtime win over Indianapolis. Miami has gone in the opposite direction, dropping its first two games and managing only 13 points in each loss, including a 35-13 defeat against San Francisco. The Dolphins have yet to show they can consistently sustain drives against a quality defense, while Mahomes should have opportunities to attack a unit that has already spent too much time on the field. This is one of the Week 3 matchups with legitimate blowout potential.

Carolina's offense looked completely different in Week 2, with Bryce Young throwing for 287 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-3 rout of Atlanta. Cleveland deserves credit for responding to its opening-week blowout by upsetting Tampa Bay, as Deshaun Watson led a fourth-quarter comeback in the 23-19 victory. The Browns' pass rush can keep this from getting away from them, but Carolina has shown more offensive explosiveness and should have the better quarterback play. A one-touchdown Panthers win feels more realistic than another Browns upset.

The biggest concern for New York is now confirmed: Jaxson Dart will undergo knee surgery and miss the remainder of the 2026 season after suffering the injury in Monday night's 28-6 loss to the Rams. Jameis Winston will take over under center after completing just 11 of 27 passes for 111 yards with an interception in relief. Tennessee hasn't shown enough offensively to make an outright upset the most likely outcome, but the Titans did keep Philadelphia uncomfortable throughout Week 2. With the Giants turning to Winston on a short week, getting more than a field goal with Tennessee remains the safer ATS side.

Jacksonville's Week 2 result was more disappointing, as the Jaguars blew a 10-point second-half lead in Denver and failed to score again. This should be far more competitive than Jacksonville's Week 1 rout of Cleveland, but Trevor Lawrence gives the Jaguars the higher offensive ceiling at home. New England can keep things tight early before Jacksonville creates separation with a couple of second-half scoring drives.

Josh Allen accounted for five touchdowns in the Bills' 41-31 win over Detroit, while Buffalo scored touchdowns on five of its first six possessions. The Chargers are headed in the opposite direction after dropping to 0-2 with a 26-14 loss to Las Vegas, a game in which Justin Herbert threw two interceptions. Los Angeles still has enough offensive talent to put points on the board, but Buffalo's current pace is difficult to match. The Bills should pull away in the second half.

The Lions should rebound at home and create enough second-half separation to cover.

Washington now has to face that unit without Jayden Daniels, who dislocated his left elbow against Dallas and is not expected to play Sunday. Marcus Mariota is in line to start. Seattle could also get Sam Darnold back, although Drew Lock has played well enough to keep the offense functional in his absence. The quarterback situation creates a major mismatch, and Seattle has a clear path to a comfortable road victory.

San Francisco has been one of the NFL's most impressive teams through two weeks, following its Melbourne win over the Rams with a 35-13 rout of Miami. Arizona's offense went the other direction in Week 2, managing only 151 total yards and seven points against Seattle. The Cardinals are unlikely to find things much easier against a 49ers defense capable of generating pressure without sacrificing coverage. Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey should give San Francisco enough offense to build an early lead and turn this into another convincing win.
