The Lions have not played well enough defensively to cover many 7.5-point spreads lately, but with J.J. McCarthy ruled out due to a hand injury, we’re fading Minnesota QB Max Brosmer.
Brosmer’s lone start came in a 26-0 loss in which he threw four interceptions. We like Detroit to take advantage of this matchup, and even on the road, put together a solid offensive game plan in a dome setting.

The 26-0 Brosmer script could be in play again for this matchup, as I’m skeptical of the Vikings reaching their team total of 16.5 points.
The Lions, who are one of the league’s most prolific teams for Overs (10-5), have only seen four out of seven Overs hit on the road. Minnesota home games are 2-4 on Overs this season. Five of the Vikings’ past six games have finished with fewer than 43.5 total points.

The Vikings have been a run funnel defense. Minnesota has allowed the fourth-fewest receiving yards to wide receivers, but has permitted the sixth-most rushing yards to opposing running backs.
Jahmyr Gibbs ran for just two yards in last week’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, yet he was on the field a ton in a negative game script. We expect the Lions to be leading all afternoon on Christmas Day, allowing Dan Campbell to make up for lost time with David Montgomery’s usage in a favorable matchup.
