Our early Falcons vs. Vikings prediction for Sunday Night Football expects a low-scoring affair where the Under cashes.

The Atlanta Falcons look to shake off a disappointing season-opening loss when they face the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football in Week 2, and I offer my best play on the total as part of my early Falcons vs. Vikings prediction

I aim to continue the momentum of my successful opening week of NFL picks. The Vikings are anywhere from a 4.5- to 5.5-point favorite with an Over/Under of 44.5 to 45.5 as we begin to roll out our NFL predictions for Week 2

Kickoff for Sunday Night Football is set for 8:20 p.m. ET from U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, airing on NBC.

⬇️ Under 45.5 (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Of all the games on the Week 2 NFL slate, this one has the potential to see some of the biggest line movement throughout the week, as Minnesota still has yet to play its season opener as of publication.

But the rest disadvantage that Minnesota will have to deal with coming off a Monday night game factors into my decision to make the Under my Falcons vs. Vikings best bet.

This is still a tough Vikings defense that Falcons quarterback Michael Penix will have to move the ball against. Minnesota ranked in the top five defensively last season in points per game allowed, Efficiency, Total QBR, sacks, and rushing yards per game allowed.

Atlanta running back Bijan Robinson turned in his second career game with 100-plus receiving yards last week. But he was stuffed in the run game, with none of his 12 carries going for more than six yards. That will put added pressure on Penix to move the ball through the air, which isn’t easy against a Brian Flores-led defense that can pin its ears back.

I am making this play on the highest number available at our best sports betting sites, 45.5. A poor offensive performance from Minnesota on Monday could have this line tick down to match the 44.5s on the low end of the market.

Through BetMGM’s -110 odds which carry a 52.38% implied probability, a $10 winning wager on the Under would net $9.09 in profits.

🔍 Falcons vs. Vikings odds analysis

The Vikings currently range from 4.5 to 5.5-point favorites for next week’s lookahead line, according to the NFL odds. The initial movement will depend squarely on its performance in a Monday night game in which it is a 1.5-point road favorite against the Chicago Bears.

I backed Chicago with my Vikings vs. Bears prediction, so those interested in playing the Falcons next week should want to get behind Atlanta’s point spread now if I am correct on my Monday Night Football wager.

The Vikings opened as 4.5-point favorites, and some top sports betting sites have shifted the odds to a -115 juice to lay the 4.5, and -105 odds to back Atlanta at +4.5. How do NFL odds work?

When betting on NFL odds, the point spread shows how many points the favorite needs to win by in order to cash the bet. For example, a favorite of -3 must win by more than 3 points to cover the spread, while an underdog at +3 must win outright or lose by fewer than 3 points to cover the spread.

Moneyline odds represent the payout for picking the outright winner (+200 means a $100 bet wins $200, while -200 means a $200 bet wins $100). Over/Unders let you wager on whether the combined total will be higher or lower than the set number.
