The Houston Rockets face elimination in Friday’s Game 6 and will try to pull off a comeback for the ages - but don’t count on a 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers repeat. Our Rockets vs. Warriors prediction, part of today’s NBA picks, expects Golden State to close the door on the young Rockets at home.

Tipoff from Chase Center in San Francisco is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET (TNT). The Warriors are 4.5-point betting favorites across our best sports betting sites, with a moneyline of -210 and an Over/Under of 203.5.

🎯 Score prediction: Warriors 109, Rockets 101

The longer this series goes, the better for the Rockets. The athleticism of Houston's young core is the one major advantage the underdog has over its opponent. This was on full display in Game 5 as Ime Udoka's squad overwhelmed Golden State early and maintained that dominance throughout.

The Rockets team that showed up in Game 5 is the one fans were promised in this series. Instead of relying on one player to carry the offense, the hosts got double-digit scoring efforts from all five starters. Unfortunately for them, it might just be too little, too late. After all, they are chasing their white whale.

It's difficult enough to defeat the Warriors in a playoff game, never mind three in a row. The series now shifts back to San Francisco for Game 6, where Golden State is favored to close the book on Houston's stellar season.

The Warriors have compiled an unbelievable 17-3 record at home over their last 20 playoff games, including 2-0 in this series. While the Rockets were one of the West's better road teams during the regular season (29-12), the Chase Center is a different beast in the NBA playoffs.

Not to mention, Golden State has two proven playoff superstars in its ranks with Jimmy Butler and Stephen Curry. We're not betting against either of them at home in a closeout game. This is why we're comfortable backing the Dubs to cover the spread at the -115 price offered by our best sports betting apps.
