Jalen Brunson leads the New York Knicks against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night, and our top Lakers vs. Knicks NBA player props based on the best NBA odds expect a big game from the star guard at home.

In a season where his superstar credentials have been questioned, Jalen Brunson has played like a championship-caliber player for the New York Knicks. He'll take center stage again on Saturday in a showdown with the Los Angeles Lakers, which tips off at 8:30 p.m. on ABC.

Even with LeBron James and Anthony Davis sidelined, the Lakers scored a shocking road win on Thursday over the Boston Celtics, who remain the title favorite by our NBA Finals odds. Those two remain questionable to play Saturday in Los Angeles' fifth game of a six-game road trip.

Meanwhile, the Knicks have won an NBA-best nine straight games after Thursday's win over the Indiana Pacers, which saw Brunson score 40 points to earn MVP chants from the crowd. He's still a long shot by our NBA MVP odds, but we expect him to have a big day on Saturday.

Here are our best Lakers vs. Knicks NBA player props and NBA picks (odds via our best NBA betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Lakers vs. Knicks player props

Jalen Brunson Over 32.5 points (-115 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

When these two teams faced each other on December 18, Julius Randle scored 27 points, and Immanuel Quickley chipped in 20. Entering this rematch, Randle is injured and Quickley now plays for Toronto.

That means Brunson will be doing the heavy lifting on offense, especially if OG Anunoby (elbow) is forced to miss a fourth straight game. Brunson scored 29 in that matchup with the Lakers, but he can get four more points in tonight’s rematch given his additional scoring responsibilities.

Brunson went off for 40 points in his last game out, leading New York to a hard-fought victory over the Indiana Pacers.

Over the Knicks’ nine-game win streak, he’s averaged 32.6 points, going for at least 33 points in three games, at least 32 in five, and at least 30 in eight. On the season, Brunson has 10 games with at least 33 points, including seven at home and four in the last month.

D’Angelo Russell Over 26.5 points+rebounds+assists (-113 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Russell started the season as a full-time starter, but from December 23 to January 11, he came off the bench in seven straight contests. In those seven, his averages fell precipitously, but he’s been stellar since re-joining the first unit. Over his last 11 as a starter, D’Lo has averaged 23.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 6.8 assists, good for 33.2 PRAs in that span.

He’s gone for at least 27 PRAs in nine of his last 11 and nearly half of his games on the season overall, with 22 in 46 appearances. The availability of LeBron James and Anthony Davis won’t impact our decision to bet this prop, as six of Russell’s recent nine games hitting this have come with LeBron in the lineup.

James’ absence would give us a confidence boost with our best sports betting sites, however, as Russell has averaged 24.7 PRAs with James in the lineup compared to 35.2 when James sits. We’re taking the Over at 26.5 regardless, but if James sits, we can comfortably bet this one up to 29.5.

Isaiah Hartenstein Over 11.5 rebounds (+104 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Most of our featured books have this one set at 10.5, but we can get it at 11.5 for plus- money odds at FanDuel. Hartenstein has been on a tear recently, and there’s no reason to think he falls back to earth tonight.

Hartenstein had a five game stretch from January 20 to January 29 in which he missed two games and logged 23, 16, and 16 minutes in three games available due to an Achilles injury. Now back to full strength, he’s pulled down 19 and 12 rebounds in his last two games respectively.

Hartenstein has grabbed at least 11 rebounds in each of his last nine games in which he’s played at least 28 minutes, pulling down at least 12 rebounds in eight of them. On the season, Hartenstein has played 23 games with at least 28 minutes and hit this mark in 12 of them. He grabbed 17 rebounds at Los Angeles on December 18 with Anthony Davis in the lineup.

Davis has missed two straight due to an Achilles injury, and even if he plays tonight, he will likely be operating at less than 100%. The Lakers have been just above average in rebounds allowed to opponents on the season, but they’ve been the most generous to opponents over their last three with AD banged up or unavailable. We’ll take the Over and the profitable odds.
