Desperate for a win, Boston travels to Dallas to face the red-hot Mavericks. Here are our Celtics-Mavericks NBA picks based on the top odds.

Boston was due for a let-down game Sunday at Denver, and the Celtics lost by 12 to a Nuggets team that’s been phenomenal at home as of late. Searching for a bounce-back, the Celtics promptly got bounced Tuesday in Oklahoma City, surrendering a Thunder franchise record 150 points and losing by 33 to a team missing its best player. Yikes.

After seven straight wins (three at home), momentum is on Dallas’ side. The Mavs have won six of those seven games by nine points or fewer and eked out some close victories on the back of Luka Doncic, who has been superhuman over the last two weeks. Can Dallas extend its winning streak, or will Boston get back on track?

Here is our best Celtics vs. Mavericks NBA pick (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Celtics vs. Mavericks Odds Analysis

Despite recent miscues, Boston is still favored on the road, opening as a three-point favorite in Dallas. That line has moved half a point in favor of the home team, and bettors are backing the Celtics with 53% of tickets and 64% of cash on the road team to cover.

Boston hasn’t covered in any of its last three contests, and the team is just 7-9 as the road favorite. The Mavs are 0-2 ATS in their last two games and just 7-11-2 at home, 0-0-1 as the home dog and 3-11-2 against Eastern Conference opponents.

Bettors are split on the outright winner, with 46% of tickets and 68% of cash on the Celtics moneyline. Boston is 11-7 straight up on the road, while Dallas is 15-5 straight up at home.

The point total has remained steady at 231 since opening, and the Over has attracted 85% of tickets and 89% of cash.  The Celtics have hit the Over in each of their last two matchups and four of their last six. The Mavs have hit the Over in four of their last five outings.

Celtics vs. Mavericks Pick

Luka Doncic Over 52.5 points + rebounds + assists  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Luka has been unbelievably hot as of late. Over the Mavs’ seven-game win streak, he’s averaged 41.7 points, 11 rebounds, and 9.9 assists. That includes a pair of triple-doubles and three 50-point games.

He’s gone for at least 53 points, rebounds, and assists in five of those games and will make it six Thursday night with another stellar performance. On the season, Doncic has averaged 53.9 points, rebounds, and assists at home compared to just 49.7 on the road. He’s hit this prop 13 times overall and seven times at home.

Boston’s defense is not what it was a season ago. Not even close. The team is reeling after a monster loss to the Thunder on Tuesday, so we’d expect the team to have a sharper focus on defense. Regardless, this isn’t a scary matchup for Doncic, who went for 42 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists when he faced the Celtics in Boston in November.
