It was naturally common knowledge going into opening night that the Cavs’ fortunes would be heavily dependent on Donovan Mitchell once again, especially with Darius Garland still sidelined with a toe injury. Spida certainly did his part despite Cleveland coming up short, posting 36 points + assists while sporting an unsurprisingly robust 37% usage rate. 

The Cavs are set up well to bounce back Friday against an overmatched Nets team, one that finished last season ranked in the bottom 10 of the league in assists allowed per home game (27.6) and gave up 33 dimes during Wednesday's loss to the Hornets. Cleveland’s implied point total is also at 121 points and rising, furthering the case for this prop.

At -125 odds on FanDuel, the bet has a 55.6% implied probability of hitting, while a $10 bet would net $8.62 in profit.

⬆️ Jarrett Allen 9.5 rebounds (-112) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Jarrett Allen remains one of the NBA’s most consistent board men, as he’s averaged at least 9.6 rebounds in six consecutive seasons. Allen did open the new campaign with an atypical four-rebound performance versus the Knicks, but he averaged 9.7 boards per game last season, including 10.6 in four contests against the Nets.

Brooklyn allowed a whopping 67 total rebounds in its loss to the Hornets and 15.0 rebounds per game to centers specifically last season. Allen eclipsed this prop on 52 occasions last regular season and postseason, and Cleveland’s trademark suffocating defense often generates plenty of opportunities for the big man on the defensive glass.

⬆️ Cam Thomas 20.5 points (-113) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

We’ve indirectly disparaged the Nets a bit with our first two prop bets, and Brooklyn is undeniably in a significant rebuilding phase this season. Nevertheless, there are bright spots in even the bleakest of seasons, and Cam Thomas is certainly poised to be one for Brooklyn for as long as he’s on the roster.

The young guard has proven capable of prolific production on multiple occasions over the last couple of seasons. He recorded 22 points or more in 16 of 25 games in 2024-25, including both meetings versus Cleveland. Thomas struggled with his shot in the season-opening loss to the Hornets (2-9 FG, 15 points), but there’s no question this is a number he’s very capable of eclipsing, especially if he approximates or exceeds the 27.9% usage rate he logged versus Charlotte.

At -113 odds at Caesars (53.1%), a $10 bet would profit $8.85.
