The Boston Celtics face the Cleveland Cavaliers after a blowout win in Game 1, as we offer our top Cavaliers vs. Celtics player props for Game 2 based on the best NBA odds.

Amid all the chaos out West, the Boston Celtics (64-18) remain the clear favorites by the NBA championship odds after blowing out the Cleveland Cavaliers (48-34) in Game 1 of this second-round series in the 2024 NBA playofs. The Celtics are 13.5-point favorites to win Game 2, according to our best sports betting sites, with tipoff set for tonight at 7 p.m. ET (ESPN) from TD Garden in Boston.

Jayson Tatum continues to lead the way for the Celtics and remains a favorite by the 2024 NBA Finals MVP odds, but teammate Derrick White has stolen the spotlight after a ridiculous showing in Game 1. Can the Cavaliers slow down the red-hot guard in Game 2?

To accompany our NBA player props & expert picks and our Mavericks vs. Thunder player props, here are our best Cavaliers vs. Celtics player props and NBA picks (odds via our best NBA betting sites; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Cavaliers vs. Celtics prop bet predictions for Thursday

Derrick White Over 3.5 made 3-pointers ⭐⭐⭐

Did White drink the same potion that turned Jalen Brunson into the NBA's best player? Brunson's record-breaking play has been overshadowing White in the Eastern Conference, but he's been one of the most prolific scorers in the playoffs thus far.

The 29-year-old has gone from a 3-and-D stud to playing at an All-Star level for Boston through its first six playoff games. His 3-point shooting has been particularly awe-inspiring, and he's coming off a 7-for-12 performance from behind the arc in Game 1 against Cleveland. He's averaging 4.6 made threes on 9.3 attempts per game (49.4%) during the playoffs.

White has been so impressive that this prop is as short as -139 at our other best sportsbooks. That implies a 58.16% probability it hits, according to our odds calculator. But a $10 bet pays out $18 through our odds.

Jrue Holiday Under 21.5 points + rebounds + assists ⭐⭐⭐

If Bill Belichick woke up one day and decided he wanted to coach in the NBA, he would want Jrue Holiday on his team. What do the Charlotte Hornets have to lose? They should probably hire Belichick.

While Holiday isn't putting up All-Star numbers, he's a high-end defender and basketball genius. There's a reason he's on Team USA this summer, which is the favorite by the men's Olympic basketball odds.

However, there are two reasons I don't think he hits this Over. His impact comes outside of the stat sheet, and the Celtics really just don't need him to put up numbers.

The Celtics are so deep that Holiday is averaging just 8.8 points, five rebounds, and four assists in the playoffs (17.8). These odds imply a 50.98% probability this prop hits, with a $10 bet cashing a $9.62 profit.

Evan Mobley Over 1.5 blocks ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This line is an overreaction to Evan Mobley hitting the Under on 1.5 blocks against the Celtics in Game 1. His line has been set at 1.5 blocks for much of the playoffs, with odds as short as -175 against the Orlando Magic in Round 1.

The Celtics being as loaded as they are and ending the season as the least-blocked team clearly led to lengthened odds. But it's rare to see Mobley with plus-money odds on Over 1.5 blocks. He's averaging 2.8 blocks per game in the playoffs and has gone Over 1.5 in six of eight outings, including multiple five-block outings.

While these odds only imply a 49.50% probability that Mobley blocks two-plus shots, the profit would be $10.20 on a $10 bet if he does swat a few away like Dikembe Mutombo. Hopefully he does a finger wag, too.
