Welcome to the Davion Mitchell breakout season. Mitchell, who began the year as an intriguing 100/1 long shot for Most Improved Player, is now 30/1 to win the award after one game, finishing with 16 points and 12 assists against the Orlando Magic in the opener.

Mitchell’s MIP campaign depends on his ability to stay in the lineup after Tyler Herro returns, but for now, he has a chance to record counting stats as the team’s starting point guard. The market clearly believes in him doing that, as his points and assists combo prop has climbed up from 13.5 since Game 1.

There is still room for growth, which is why I like this Over in a more favorable matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies - a $10 bet with -123 odds (55.16% implied win probability) nets $8.13 in profit.

🔥  Donte DiVincenzo Over 10.5 points (-119) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

There goes my Sixth Man of the Year bet on Minnesota Timberwolves guard Donte DiVincenzo. He finds himself in the starting lineup over Mike Conley to begin the season.

Interestingly, DiVincenzo’s markets at the best sports betting sites haven’t really changed much since his new role. His points prop remains the same after scoring seven on six shots in 20 minutes against the Portland Trail Blazers. 

In a softer matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers, I like DiVincenzo’s chances of having a bigger impact. The -119 odds have an implied win probability of 54.34% and would profit you $8.40 if it wins.

Speaking of the starting lineup, Jonathan Kuminga has found a place as a starter for the Golden State Warriors through two games. This comes after many speculated that Al Horford might start, but the Warriors are being careful with the veteran’s minutes.

That’s why I like this prop so much. Horford will be out on the second night of a back-to-back. Considering the age of the Warriors’ roster, they need their young players to deliver one night after an overtime win against the Denver Nuggets.

Kuminga has already cleared this prop in both games. The market has adjusted to 8.5, with BetMGM offering the lone bargain at 7.5, earning $7.69 on a $10 wager.
