At long last, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged.

Kalshi, a prediction trading market that is legal and regulated throughout most of the U.S., already has a market for the Swift-Kelce wedding - asking whether they will be married this year - with Yes having a 9% chance of coming true, according to the operator.

With football season set to begin next week (Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs play the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday, Sept. 5), my prediction for a Swift-Kelce union this year is firmly on "No."

Kalshi gives the superstar couple a 9% chance to be married before Jan. 1, 2026.

They have roughly four months to make things official. That's a tight schedule for the average couple, let alone these superstars.

Swift previously announced an upcoming album release, The Life of a Showgirl. Kelce and the Chiefs play the Denver Broncos on Christmas Day of the NFL's Week 17, and they'll visit the Las Vegas Raiders on a to-be-confirmed date in Week 18.

While access to private jets and seemingly unlimited other resources can make a lot of unlikely things possible, it's also difficult to envision Swift and Kelce rushing into what will be one of the most highly-anticipated and star-studded weddings since Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries.

My prediction

The Chiefs are firmly in the mix of the latest Super Bowl odds, so it's tough to see even Tay-Tay pulling Kelce away from the game in the middle of the playoff race. Swift is even the leading contender by the Super Bowl halftime show performer odds with the NFL's Big Game scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

As a result, it's very tough to envision Swift and Kelce tying the knot within the next four months.

When did Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce start dating?

Swift and Kelce are believed to have begun dating in 2023, following the superstar's concert at Arrowhead Stadium during The Eras Tour. She had attended many Chiefs games, including the Super Bowl, ever since.

Kelce has even appeared on stage during her concerts.
