At long last, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever (1-5) won a game on Friday after the rookie's clutch shooting late helped sink the Los Angeles Sparks. They'll face a much stiffer test tonight at 9 p.m. ET when the Fever travel to the defending champion Las Vegas Aces (2-1), who are 15.5-point home favorites at Michelon ULTRA Arena.
The Fever had lost five straight games before two late buckets from Clark, one of the WNBA MVP odds favorites, capped off a blistering rally by Indiana. That'll be tougher to pull off against consensus MVP favorite A'ja Wilson, whose Aces suffered their first loss earlier this week but still own the shortest WNBA championship odds.

Ahead of Friday's game against the Sparks, we were optimistic that Clark could carry some early-season momentum into a scoring explosion against one of the worst defenses in the WNBA.
Once again, the No. 1 pick heated up in the fourth quarter, hitting two clutch 3-pointers to spark the Fever's comeback. Yet she had scored just five points through the first three quarters and finished with 11 points on 4-for-14 shooting from the field - her fourth game below 38% in six career starts.
Clark has now fallen below 20 points in three of her last five games, and she's facing an Aces defense that hasn't lived up to expectations thus far but ranked first in virtually every metric in 2023. I'd expect Las Vegas to have a plan to make life miserable for the Fever rookie in these teams' first meeting of the year.

We've been targeting this prop for a while now, and I'm surprised to see FanDuel offering such generous +114 odds after this exact bet was priced at +105 before Friday's contest.
Clark pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds in that one, her fourth game with at least six rebounds in her last five starts. It's not a coincidence that the 6-foot guard is attacking the glass with such intention, as it's one of the best ways she can make an impact with her shot not falling early in her WNBA career.
This wager is dealing as short as -110, which would imply a 52.38% hit rate, while these +114 odds return a profit of $11.40 for every $10 staked.
