Dutch Grand Prix Odds, Picks & Predictions 2024: Verstappen to Make Most of Home Track

Last updated: August 24, 2024 1:13 PM EDT • 4 min read X Social Google News Link

Max Verstappen hasn't stood atop the podium in four races, easily the longest span without a victory for the Dutchman since 2020, the last time Lewis Hamilton finished atop the F1 driver's standings.
With Verstappen returning home for Sunday's Dutch Grand Prix on the track where he's won three straight races, the stars could align for the reigning champion to end his barren patch.
However, Verstappen will have to overcome second place on the grid after Lando Norris took pole position, winning qualifying by 0.356 seconds.
Norris vaulted to favorite status across our best sports betting sites, with Verstappen the clear second favorite. Sunday's race takes place at 9 a.m. ET (ESPN).
Our Dutch Grand Prix odds, picks, and predictions focus on Verstappen's chances of winning the race while considering the most likely long-shot winner and who can post the fastest lap.

Dutch Grand Prix predictions
Favorite: Max Verstappen ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Verstappen didn't secure pole position and will start the race in second spot. While this is not ideal, particularly on a track that makes passing extremely challenging, he has a fast enough car and a 100% winning record at this event to fall back on.
His odds barely moved after qualifying, slightly lengthening across our best sports betting apps.
At +185, FanDuel offers the best price. A winning $10 bet yields a $18.50 profit.

Long shot: Charles Leclerc ⭐⭐⭐
While Ferrari has recently been enduring a woeful stretch, Charles Leclerc represents the best long-shot bet outside the five favorites.
That assertion didn't change much after qualifying, which saw Leclerc finish sixth. He was also the last competitor outside of the top five to win a race.
Leclerc won the Monaco Grand Prix in May and finished as the ninth-fastest racer in Friday's second practice session. He ended up third at the Belgium Grand Prix and fourth in the previous race in Hungary.
His form has been slightly better than his teammate Carlos Sainz, who finished 11th in qualifying.
DraftKings offers the best price on a Leclerc win (+8000). A winning $10 bet will profit $800.
Best odds: +8000 via DraftKings | Implied probability: 1.23%

Prop: Lando Norris to post the fastest lap ⭐⭐⭐
Norris is mixing it up with Verstappen while jostling to be the favorite to win on Sunday.
McLaren has boasted one of the fastest cars during the summer, and Norris is expected to be on the podium. He finished fifth at the Belgium Grand Prix and second during the Hungarian Grand Prix, and Norris secured the fastest lap at the Spanish Grand Prix in June.
Six drivers have won the fastest lap honors over the last six races, with Norris among them. Norris finished as the fourth-fastest racer in Friday's second practice session, and he's primed for another impressive event.
The +195 odds will yield a $19.50 profit on a winning $10 wager.
Best odds: +195 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 33.90%
