The Formula One season returns on Sunday as I offer my Dutch Grand Prix odds and prediction for Sunday's race from Circuit Zandvoort.

The two runaway McLaren drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, are the favorites across our best F1 betting sites, with the latter just in front.

Piastri is also the F1 Championship odds front-runner, but in my Formula 1 prediction, I analyzed which of the McLaren drivers will stand atop the podium at the end of the season.

I've featured three high-value picks for Sunday's race, which starts at 9 a.m. ET (ESPN).

The summer break came at the worst possible time for Lando Norris, who won three of the four races entering the hiatus. That included an improbable win in Hungary, where he held off Oscar Piastri despite running on worn and weathered tires for most of the final third of the race.

While the momentum he created would have evaporated like standing water in a desert during the nearly month-long break, Norris will still feel confident about how he was racing. For the most part, he has been the better driver since the end of May in Monaco, and he enters as the reigning Dutch Grand Prix winner.

Excluding the Monaco Grand Prix, securing pole position at Circuit Zandvoort bears arguably the most weight.

The previous four pole-sitters, including Norris last year, went on to win the race. Norris has taken two of the past four pole positions, and he'll be ready to secure his second in a row in the Netherlands.

Of our best sports betting apps, FanDuel offers the best value. With +125 odds, Caesars offers the least value.

πŸ’Ž Best value bet to win Dutch Grand Prix: Max Verstappen ⭐⭐⭐

πŸ“Š Best odds: +900 via FanDuel ($10 to win $90)
πŸ”’ Implied probability: 10%

Max Verstappen sputtered into the summer break, finishing ninth in Budapest. His best finish in the past four races was fourth, which he achieved in Belgium at the end of July. The Dutchman has been boisterous about his displeasure with his car, bemoaning it at every turn.

So, the reset couldn't have come at a better time, but does it guarantee an improved performance? Of course not. However, Verstappen has won three of the last four Dutch Grand Prix races and finished in second last year.

Circuit Zandvoort represents one of the slower tracks, where passing opportunities are limited. It's the ninth-slowest track on the circuit, with just 55% of each lap spent in full throttle. That's good news for an underperforming car, as Verstappen can bridge the gap with his experience and elite driving skills.

Qualifying is key, though.

If Verstappen can find a way to do what Charles Leclerc did in Hungary, the Dutchman could be on track to win his third race of the season. However, don't hold your breath if he doesn't capture pole. FanDuel is ahead by a nose, with the rest of our best sportsbooks offering +800 odds.

Charles Leclerc was angrier than a whacked wasp after the Hungarian Grand Prix. Eventually, he discovered that an issue with the chassis was to blame for the car's decrease in acceleration in the second half of the race.

Bitterly disappointed, the Ferrari driver deserved better after a brilliant qualifying, which saw him secure pole position.

Leclerc has been one of the best drivers on the grid recently, finishing third or better in four of the last seven races. He found himself hard done by in finishing fourth in Budapest after the disastrous and painfully extended tail off.

While he's not a long shot by the truest definition (i.e. the odds), Leclerc hasn't won a race all season. So, in that respect, he's the quintessential embodiment of a long-shot pick.

Leclerc finished second at the Monaco Grand Prix, inarguably the most difficult track to pass. Circuit Zandvoort is not too dissimilar, offering slightly more confidence in his chances to break the goose egg.
