Rescheduling can't stop our Stampeders vs. Roughriders prediction for the best CFL matchup of the week. We still expect a close game between the two Grey Cup odds contenders as Calgary heads to Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Coming off a bye week, the Roughriders get QB Trevor Harris back, who missed the team's Week 4 win against the BC Lions. Prior to his injury, the seemingly ageless Harris was the co-favorite by the CFL Most Outstanding Player odds.

Getting him back in an offense that has the CFL's leading rusher in A.J. Ouellette (347) should be enough to power Saskatchewan to a home win against a Stampeders squad that just stomped the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

While I have Saskatchewan winning 27-24 in my Stampeders vs. Roughriders prediction, I think this spread is too large to back the favorites to cover.

This is a large spread, which is why it's hard to pass on backing the Stampeders to cover. While most of our best sports betting sites have the Roughriders as 4.5-point betting favorites, bet365 is offering Calgary +5.5. That extra point will be huge in a battle between two of the best teams in the CFL, especially with Harris having not played in multiple weeks.

While the Roughriders' trigger man is one of the best in the business, this isn't an easy defense to take on. The Stampeders are allowing the fewest points per game in the CFL (20.2), holding opposing QBs to the lowest QB rating in the CFL (80.0), and giving up the third-fewest passing yards per game (256). Players like Adrian Green and Jaylon Hutchings have emerged in a big way for Dave Dickenson.

The Stamps' offense has been just as good, too, with the addition of Vernon Adams Jr. at QB helping to reinvigorate this team. The former Lions starter has Calgary sitting third in points per game (29) and fourth in yards per game (375.5), with running back Dedrick Mills putting together a breakout campaign. Adams, and receivers Jalen Philpot and Reggie Begelton, should be able to get after a Roughriders defense that's allowing the second-most passing yards per game (279.2).

The biggest reason the Riders are undefeated is that Ouellette is healthy and running like a madman. Not only does he lead the league in rushing, but he's one of just two players with 20-plus carries who's averaging 6.2-plus yards per carry. And he's gone for 91-plus rushing yards in three straight games.

The former MAC star should see plenty of work with the Stampeders' defense being far more susceptible on the ground than through the air, too. Calgary is allowing the third-most rushing yards per game (111.2) and the most rushing yards per carry (5.86) in the league.
