Two of the best quarterbacks in the CFL go head-to-head tonight as Bo Levi Mitchell and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats host Nathan Rourke and the BC Lions at 7:30 p.m. ET (TSN3, CFL+) from Hamilton Stadium in Hamilton, Ont.

With both teams being fairly evenly matched, it's essentially a pick'em, and my Lions vs. Tiger-Cats prediction is backing the home team to win a high-scoring shootout under the lights on Friday night.

🏈 Lions vs. Tiger-Cats prediction & best bet

Tiger-Cats ML (-122)

With Mitchell under center, Hamilton once again has one of the CFL's most potent offenses, and it's flashed its firepower early in the season by averaging 32 PPG, second-most in the league. Meanwhile, BC's defensive issues from last season don't seem to be fixed after it gave up 31 points and 489 yards in its opener.

Both these teams rely heavily on their offenses to make up for defensive issues, and with the emergence of Larry Rountree, the CFL's leading rusher, Hamilton is in better shape at home.

The Lions are also dealing with injuries to three of their top four wide receivers, Jevon Cottoy, Stanley Berryhill, and Keon Hatcher Sr.

Score prediction: Tiger-Cats 34, Lions 31

🔥 Best Lions vs. Tiger-Cats player prop bet

Bo Levi Mitchell Over 325.5 passing yards (-115)

It doesn't look like Mitchell's play will be declining anytime soon. The 36-year-old is coming off an All-Star season in which he led the league in passing yards (5,296) and passing touchdowns (36) for a Hamilton team that was the best in the East.

The two-time CFL MOP has looked sharp early this season, too, as the Tiger-Cats offense continues to lean on the passing attack. Last season, he torched BC with six touchdowns in two games while averaging 347 passing yards against the Lions.

This BC defense didn't look much better in its opener, allowing 417 passing yards to 40-year-old Trevor Harris.
