For the third time this season, the Calgary Stampeders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers square off as they jockey for position in the Grey Cup odds race. My Blue Bombers vs. Stampeders prediction for tonight's game at 7 p.m. ET from McMahon Stadium in Calgary expects these two to hit the Over for the third straight game.

The Stampeders are coming off an ugly showing against the Ottawa Redblacks, but they'll have their star QB back in the fold for this matchup. Vernon Adams Jr. practiced in full this week and should be ready to rock the Blue Bombers for the third time this season.

Calgary has already beaten Winnipeg twice this year and outscored the Bombers, 78-36, in those two games. Adams cooked in both outings with five of his nine touchdown passes this year coming against Winnipeg. Given Mike O'Shea's team's defensive struggles this season, I'm projecting a 30-24 win for Calgary as part of my Blue Bombers vs. Stampeders prediction.

The best Over team in the CFL may be a surprise given they've been known for their defense for the last half decade, but the Bombers are 5-2 to the Over this season. More than anything, it's because their defense has seemingly fallen apart. The Bombers have allowed 31-plus points in four straight games while giving up the CFL's third-most points per game (28.1).

Calgary has taken advantage of those defensive issues in both outings against Winnipeg, putting up 37 and 41 points against them to twice hit the Over - the game total has been set at 51.5 in all three matchups. Thanks to Adams' return, along with Dedrick Mills' play out of the backfield, the Stamps shouldn't have any problem hanging points on this defense again.

Luckily for Winnipeg, it does have the offensive talent to stay in this game and, more importantly, help this Over hit. The Bombers are third in the league in points per game (27.1) behind the league's best rushing attack (121.4 yards per game). With Brady Oliveria leading the charge, the Bombers should net enough points to hit the Over for the fifth time in six games.

The acquisition of Adams this offseason has transformed this Calgary team, with the former Oregon star averaging a shade under 276 passing yards per game this season (273.3). He's hit the Over on this number in three of the last six games he's been fully healthy in.

While this number on his passing yards line across best sports betting apps in Canada is slightly higher than I expected with Adams returning from injury, Winnipeg's pass defense has struggled this season. The Bombers allow the fourth-most passing yards in the CFL (277.9).
