Philadelphia has been one of the worst teams in the National League against left-handed starting pitchers, but its success in home games has me backing it as a confident Orioles vs. Phillies prediction.

The Phillies bring a 13-19 record against southpaws into this matchup against Trevor Rogers, who has pitched to a 1.44 ERA in limited action. But Philadelphia has gotten great production lately from across its lineup, which is a big reason for this Orioles vs. Phillies best bet.

We will touch on Kyle Schwarber more in our player props section, but fellow teammate Bryce Harper entered yesterday with seven home runs and 13 RBIs in 16 games since the All-Star break.

Harper was batting .333 with 12 doubles and eight home runs in his previous 20 games, and even the newly acquired Harrison Bader snapped an 18-game home run drought in the series-opening win.

But yesterday’s 5-0 victory was keyed by the bottom of the lineup, as Philadelphia’s 6-through-9 hitters were responsible for six of the team’s 10 hits and all five RBIs.

The Phillies have won Ranger Suarez’s last two starts against teams currently holding playoff spots in the AL (the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees), so the odds, implying a 60% chance of winning, are justified.

Schwarber exploded with two home runs and six RBIs in Monday’s series opener and entered yesterday's game with 15 home runs and 37 RBIs over the previous 27 games, both MLB-bests in that span.

Schwarber has now shot up the National League MVP odds leaderboard, ranking in the top four in the league in home runs, RBI, OPS, hard-hit rate, barrels, xSLG, and xwOBA. His success against left-handed pitching has us backing him with our best Orioles vs. Phillies player props.
