  • New York Mets are red-hot, coming off another series win.
  • Toronto Blue Jays are simply trying to get over the finish line, with just three wins from their last 10.
  • Can Toronto play spoiler at home?

Our Mets vs. Blue Jays prediction features two teams heading in opposite directions in September. Interestingly, each is also heading in the opposite direction that it was expected to before the season.

The Blue Jays were among the favorites by the preseason World Series odds but are now completely irrelevant in that market. Meanwhile, the Mets are surging up the oddsboard and have nearly entered the top 10.

New York is expected to send Tylor Megill to the hill on Monday at Rogers Centre, with first pitch expected for 7:07 p.m. ET.

The Blue Jays will open the game with Ryan Burr on the mound, with a bulk reliever picking up for him after one or two innings.

Mets to win (-120 via Betway) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

MLB MVP odds contender Francisco Lindor and the Mets are one of the hottest teams in baseball, and no one is even close to their level over the last 10 games.

Now, the Mets get a scuffling Blue Jays team that used six relievers in Sunday's loss in Atlanta. The Jays will once again call on their bullpen to do some heavy lifting on Monday, with Burr only opening the contest.

New York surely won't do the Jays any favors, either, and will likely force the home team to use a number of bullpen arms throughout the contest.

The most likely candidate to serve as Toronto's bulk reliever is left-hander Ryan Yarbrough. A number of Mets hitters absolutely crush southpaws, including J.D. Martinez (160 wRC+), Francisco Lindor (145), and Pete Alonso (137). But none destroy lefties more than Mark Vientos.

Vientos is absolutely crushing the ball. He has seven homers in the last 30 days, including a monster walk-off shot against the Cincinnati Reds.

These -120 odds represent solid value, as Betway has the best price on the Mets to win among our best sports betting sites.

The 54.55% implied probability associated with these odds doesn't properly capture how hot the Mets are. A winning $10 wager will earn you $7.69 in profit.
