I wouldn’t blame anyone for preferring the Dodgers’ First 5 innings moneyline price tag of -155 instead. There is only so much one can trust a bet when Blake Treinen or someone else in this Los Angeles bullpen is attempting to maintain a lead in the ninth inning.
However, Ballpark Pal’s model projects a 66.6% chance of victory for the Dodgers. That means we are getting nearly 40 cents of value on the moneyline to back the better team at home with Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the bump.
Yamamoto has a 2.66 ERA in 28 starts this season, allowing one run in each of his past three outings. He’s whiffed 10 batters in all three starts, which included a seven-inning gem against the Giants last time out.
This is a reasonable price to back the defending champs.
