Carpenter's 19 home runs don't exactly jump off the page. However, considering five of those long balls have come in his last 10 appearances, it's hard to dispute he's one of baseball's hottest hitters at the moment.

He's hit a homer in alternating games dating back to July 30, including the series opener against the Twins. After not hitting a dinger on Tuesday, I have to at least take a flier on him today at the best sports betting apps' favorable odds.

Minnesota has yet to name a starter for today's game, but if ace Joe Ryan takes the bump, it will increase our confidence level. Carpenter is slashing .500/.444/1.000 in nine career plate appearances against the Twins' starter, having taken him deep once.

Regardless of who gets the nod, Mike Spector is also backing the slugger in his Twins vs. Tigers prediction.

Carpenter has cashed this prop and cleared the outfield fence at a 50% clip over his last 10. Given his scorching form and the damage he's done to his AL Central foes recently, I recommend betting on him to hit a homer at FanDuel (+340).
