Both of these teams scored just 10 points while giving up more than 30 last week. While the Utes’ defense may struggle against good teams this year, I’m not worried about the unit against the Mountaineers.
West Virginia is averaging just 17.0 points per game against FBS teams. The Mountaineers scored only 10 points against Ohio. While they tallied 31 against Pittsburgh, 17 of those points came in the fourth quarter and overtime.
The only real concern for this total is that Utah’s offense, which is still averaging 36.8 points per game, decimates a defense that's given up 65 points over the last two weeks. However, even if the Utes score 31, as they’ve done three times this season, the Mountaineers won’t tally 17 against Utah's defense.
