This nonconference matchup between Tulsa and Oklahoma State kicks off a Friday night college football doubleheader, and I break it down with my Tulsa vs. Oklahoma State prediction.
Oklahoma State is a 13-point betting favorite ahead of kickoff from Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Okla., at 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN).
I cashed my ATS college football picks wager for the 7:30 p.m. ESPN game last Friday night and am looking to the road underdogs in this matchup to jumpstart my college football predictions for Week 4. And with no player props available as of this writing, I have identified my best game prop involving the home favorites.

🌀 Tulsa +12.5 (-115) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Tulsa’s win total has decreased by one over each of the last four years, and last year’s three-win season and last-place AAC finish led to former head coach Kevin Wilson’s firing. While this year’s 1-2 start does not inspire much confidence, I believe first-year head coach Tre Lamb will get things turned around based on his track record.
Lamb led Gardner-Webb to the FCS playoffs in each of his final two seasons in 2022 and 2023. His hiring paid immediate dividends for ETSU last year, as he improved the Buccaneers’ win total by four in just one short year.
Despite losing 42-23 to Navy last week, Tulsa can build off the fact that it forced three turnovers against a Midshipmen team that was one of the few in FBS that hadn’t committed a turnover leading into the week. The Golden Hurricane capitalized on two of those three turnovers for touchdowns, and I am expecting another fast start against a Cowboys squad that has averaged just 10 first-half points through two games.
BetMGM is the only one of the best sports betting sites offering a line as high as +12.5, as all other competitors are at +12 or lower. That justifies the 53.49% implied probability for this wager that would net $8.70 in profits off a $10 bet if Tulsa covers.

🔥 Oklahoma State to score every quarter (-111) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
With a high total of 54.5 points, oddsmakers expect a high-scoring affair, especially from the Cowboys with their 33.5-point implied team total. I expect Tulsa to keep up with the scoring, which had me looking to back the Over of 6.5 combined touchdowns. But with that wager juiced slightly higher to -125 at DraftKings, this wager through FanDuel covers us if Oklahoma State were to settle for field goals.
Of the eight quarters the Cowboys have played this year, they have scored in just five of them. But that is skewed by a three-point performance against a dominant Oregon team, while Oklahoma State did get on the board in each quarter against UT Martin.
Head coach Mike Gundy’s teams play at a fast enough tempo that they should get multiple possessions every 15 minutes.
FanDuel gives a 24.39% chance through its +310 odds that these two teams will combine for at least four touchdowns in each half. By comparison, that makes this wager look like a steal, and I am backing it with $10 in play in the hopes of netting $9.01 in profits.

How do college football odds work?
When betting on college football, the point spread shows how many points the favorite needs to win by in order to cash the bet. For example, a favorite of -3 must win by more than 3 points to cover the spread, while an underdog at +3 must win outright or lose by fewer than 3 points to cover the spread.
Moneyline odds represent the payout for picking the outright winner (+200 means a $100 bet wins $200, while -200 means a $200 bet wins $100). Over/Unders let you wager on whether the combined total will be higher or lower than the set number.
