With the Seminoles on a two-game losing streak and Mason Heintschel making his first road start as Pitt's QB1, my college football predictions for Week 7 don't expect an overwhelming amount of points in this matchup, despite Florida State entering as a 9.5-point betting favorite.

While our best college football betting sites project this to be a decently high-scoring game with the Over/Under at 58.5, Heintschel's flashy performance in a Week 6 win over Boston College is driving that up. The true freshman threw for 323 yards and four touchdowns in his first career start after head coach Pat Narduzzi opted to bench Eli Holstein.
However, Boston College's defense is one of the worst in the Power Four (ranked No. 96 by SP+), and playing at Doak Campbell could be tough for the freshman. The Seminoles' defense is No. 32 in SP+, and multiple future NFL players like Darrell Jackson Jr. lead the unit that allows more than 10 points fewer per game than the Eagles' defense (20.8 vs. 31.6).
But it won't be easy for Tommy Castellanos and Co. to score on Narduzzi's defense, either. Pitt allows the second-fewest PPG in the conference (19.6), the third-fewest yards (293.4), and it ranks No. 8 in EPA per rush on defense. Linebackers Rasheem Biles and Kyle Louis pose a difficult matchup for a Gus Malzahn offense that leans heavily on the ground game.

Florida State opened as a 10-point betting favorite, with the line coming down to 9.5. But with 54% of bettors backing Pitt, I wouldn't be shocked to see the Seminoles listed closer to -7.5 by Saturday. And at that point I'd consider betting FSU, but at 9.5, I lean toward the Panthers. As for the game total, it's been moving minimally. I don't expect much change with bettors split. I'd bet the Under on this matchup as long as the game total stays above 54 points.
