Oregon vs. Texas Tech Same-Game Parlay for College Football Playoff | Orange Bowl SGP Picks & Odds

Despite Texas Tech’s third-ranked scoring average in the nation (40.3 PPG), their games went just 5-8 on Overs.

My Oregon vs. Texas Tech same-game parlay for the Orange Bowl anticipates No. 4 Texas Tech’s elite defense carrying the day over No. 5 Oregon. But in a losing effort, we’re looking to thread the needle on a touchdown scorer for the Ducks whose anytime TD scorer prop juices up our parlay odds in a major way.

The action for Oregon vs. Texas Tech in the Orange Bowl kicks off from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla., Thursday at noon ET (ESPN). Oregon is a 2.5-point betting favorite as part of our College Football Playoff predictions.

Texas Tech ML (+114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I simply believe the wrong team is favored, so we’ll leave the points at the door and roll with the moneyline by backing a Texas Tech side that has performed better against the spread than any other team in the nation this year (12-1 ATS). Its only loss, outright or against the spread, came with a backup quarterback.

Texas Tech has an average ATS margin of +10.4 PPG (3rd in FBS). Oregon allowed scoring totals of 30, 27, and 34 in games against Indiana, USC, and James Madison, demonstrating how the Ducks’ defense occasionally falters against high-quality competition.

This play also features in our Oregon vs. Texas Tech predictions.

Under 51.5 (-108) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Despite the Red Raiders’ third-ranked scoring average in the nation (40.3 PPG), their games went just 5-8 on Overs. That’s because Texas Tech allows just 11.3 PPG (2nd in FBS).

During the regular season, Oregon faced three defenses that rank among the top 30 in adjusted defensive efficiency. The Ducks averaged 19.66 PPG in those games. Since we like the underdog, we’re inclined to believe that Texas Tech’s defense (No. 1 in the nation in adjusted efficiency) is going to find ways to limit Oregon’s offense.

Another thing that could help the Under along? If Tech QB Behren Morton is held in check, which features as a play in our Oregon vs. Texas Tech player props.

Kenyon Sadiq anytime TD scorer (+130) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

We’re laying out a script in which Oregon’s offense is limited, yet we're calling our shot on an anytime TD scorer from the Ducks in order to maximize negative correlation for an SGP odds boost.

Texas Tech has allowed only six rushing scores all season, while surrendering 11 TDs through the air. Sadiq leads the Ducks in receiving touchdowns, scoring in six of his 12 games played (50%) with eight total touchdowns on the year.
