North Carolina vs. UCF Player Prop picks: Lopez Set to Thrive

Our North Carolina vs. UCF player prop bets are eyeing Gio Lopez to go Over his passing yards total (-114).

Bill Belichick assumes the role of a big underdog for the first time as a college coach. That fact helped shape my best North Carolina vs. UCF player props for Saturday’s nonconference clash at FBC Mortgage Stadium in Orlando, Fla. (3:30 p.m. ET, FOX).

The Knights are a consensus 7-point betting odds favorite at home against the Tar Heels, who have recently logged blowout wins over Charlotte (20-3) and Richmond (41-6).

My college football picks are part of our college football predictions for Week 4.

⬆️ Gio Lopez Over 177.5 passing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

North Carolina QB Gio Lopez has yet to throw for more than 155 yards, even though two of his three games were against Charlotte and Richmond. Meanwhile, UCF has held its first two opponents to a combined 197 passing yards. So why bet on Lopez to hit the Over here? Because Belichick will have no choice but to turn Lopez loose to compete in this game.

Plus, it’s not like Lopez lacks talent. He compiled 2,559 passing yards and 18 touchdowns in 11 games (including 173 yards at LSU) last year with South Alabama. What about UCF’s pass defense? The stats are misleading. The Knights have faced Jacksonville State and North Carolina A&T, and the latter only registered 11 pass attempts.

Bet this Over at FanDuel, where you can fetch odds of -114. The implied win probability is 53.27%, and you can snag $8.77 on a $10 wager.

⬇️ Demon June Under 58.5 rushing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐

Meet Demon June, North Carolina’s lightning-quick freshman running back, and to this point, one of the Tar Heels’ two true offensive weapons (the other being wideout Jordan Shipp).

June didn’t play in UNC’s ugly opening loss to TCU, but he’s since rumbled for a team-high 200 yards on just 23 carries. However, he did that against subpar competition, and now a tougher challenge awaits.

And even though UCF’s defense has been better against the pass than the run so far, the Knights will surely load the box to shut down the Tar Heels’ running game. That's another reason why I like Lopez to enjoy some success through the air.

You can get -114 betting odds on this prop at FanDuel. That translates to a 53.27% implied win probability, and a $10 wager could yield $8.77.

⬇️ Myles Montgomery Under 75.5 rushing yards (-118) ⭐⭐⭐

How bad was North Carolina’s run defense in its opening loss to TCU? The Horned Frogs ripped off 258 yards, averaged a whopping 7.4 yards per rush, and lead back Kevorian Barnes needed just 11 carries to churn out 113 yards. Barnes notched only 43 yards on 10 carries versus Abilene Christian in his next game.

But this rushing total from one of our best sports betting sites for UCF’s Myles Montgomery makes zero sense. Montgomery has compiled 955 yards across 34 career games for UCF and Cincinnati, which is 28.1 yards per contest. What's the number of times Montgomery has even eclipsed 61 rushing yards versus an FBS foe? Two. He produced two straight such outings in 2023 with Cincinnati (103 and 90 yards) against Baylor and Oklahoma State.

Jump on this prop at Caesars, where the -115 price comes with an implied win probability of 54.13%. Bet $10 to win $8.48.

How do college football player props work?

Player props are wagers on individual performances rather than the outcome of the game. Common props include passing yards, rushing yards, receiving yards, and touchdown scorers. For example, if a QB’s passing yards line is set at 250.5, you can bet the Over (251-plus yards) or Under (250 or fewer yards). You can also bet on if a specific player will score a touchdown in the entire game, the first or last touchdown, and more college football odds markets.

You can determine the payouts and implied probabilities for any wager - or convert odds to different formats - with our odds converter.
