I’m eager to break down my LSU vs. Ole Miss prediction as this SEC matchup is one of the most compelling games of the slate for our college football picks. Kickoff from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Miss., is at 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC).

I’m targeting Ole Miss on a spread that has moved in our favor since opening, with the home side now a 1.5-point betting favorite. Our college football predictions for Week 5 continue with a player prop on Trinidad Chambliss, as I’m not ready to buy the LSU defense until they show out against a legitimate quarterback.

🦈 Ole Miss ML (-120) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The more we learn about Clemson and Florida, the more skeptical I become about LSU being ranked No. 4. The Tigers looked great defensively in wins over those two opponents, but what if Cade Klubnik and DJ Lagway aren’t very good? Those performances don’t mean as much.

Ole Miss has holes on defense, as it demonstrated in allowing 526 yards of total offense against Arkansas. But Arkansas is far more efficient (6th in FBS in adjusted offensive efficiency per FPI) than LSU (54th).

I’m not convinced Garrett Nussmeier is playing at a level to keep pace with an Ole Miss offense that ranks 13th nationally in AdjO and has been even better since Trinidad Chambliss took over at quarterback.

FanDuel Ole Miss on the moneyline at -120, only slightly longer odds than the -110 we can get on Ole Miss -1.5. The implied win probability of Ole Miss ML at -120 odds is 54.55% and the profit on a $10 bet would be $8.33.

💰 LSU vs. Ole Miss player prop bet

Our college football player prop odds tool shows the best odds for every market across legal sportsbooks in your area.

⬆️ Trinidad Chambliss Over 260.5 passing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

In two games, Chambliss has been more efficient and has taken care of the football more capably than Austin Simmons, thus earning this start against LSU.

Chambliss has cleared 300 passing yards in two games against Arkansas and Tulane. Though he faces an LSU defense that has limited opponents to 10 or fewer points on the scoreboard in each of its four games, the Tigers have still allowed yards through the air.

Lagway threw for 287 yards while Klubnick reached 230 yards on the Tiger defense. In a game with a gaudy scoring pace expected (O/U 56.5), Chambliss should have another positive passing environment.

The best odds on this prop come from FanDuel at -114 on Over 260.5 passing yards. The implied probability at those odds is 53.27% and the profit on a $10 wager would be $8.77.
