🐶 Georgia -20.5 (-110) ⭐⭐⭐

Betting on the 2025 Georgia Bulldogs, at least to cover, hasn’t been a profitable proposition. They are a disastrous 0-4 against the spread thus far, including 0-2 against the spread in SEC play. The good news is that they now get a bad Kentucky team that is 1-3 against the spread with serious questions at quarterback. Georgia’s passing defense has been a liability, so the Wildcats' tandem of inexperienced Cutter Boley (138.1 passing efficiency) and banged-up veteran Zach Calzada (80.5) is a welcome matchup.

Kentucky’s offense has relied on the ground game. The Wildcats have generated a pathetic 159 passing yards per contest, which ranks 120th in the nation and last in the SEC. The bad news is that Georgia’s defense can stop the run. The Bulldogs are well above the national average in line yards allowed per rush (2.5) as well as second-level yards (0.6) and open-field yards (0.2). The Wildcats’ ground game has largely been a product of its offensive line producing a solid 3.4 line yards per rush.

While Georgia may allow an explosive passing play or two, Kentucky will struggle to move the ball against this defense. Georgia’s offense should get the help it needs to cover the spread, which has actually come down from the opening number (21.5). Back the Bulldogs to bounce back at home by covering the 20.5 for -110 (52.4%) at DraftKings to score a $9.09 profit on a $10 wager.

⬇️ Seth McGowan Under 57.5 rushing yards (-115) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I’m surprised that Kentucky running back Seth McGowan has such a high rushing yardage prop total, so I feel comfortable about betting on the Under. McGowan has averaged an impressive 96.8 rushing yards per game this year, but he has needed a whopping 17 carries per game to get to that number. With the Wildcats generating 3.4 line yards per rush, it’s fair to credit McGowan with only about 2.3 yards after contact per attempt, which bodes poorly versus this Georgia defensive front.

It’s difficult to project Kentucky’s rushing attack for much volume when the team is a 20.5-point underdog. It’s even more difficult to project their starting running back for much yardage when the Georgia defense knows Kentucky’s passing game is so weak. Look for McGowan to face many stacked boxes, limiting both his yards before and after contact. Bet him to stay Under 57.5 rushing yards for -115 (53.5%) at BetMGM for an $8.70 profit on a $10 bet.

I dive deeper into what's in store for McGowan and others with my Kentucky vs. Georgia player props.
