Boston College vs. Florida State Player Props, Odds
The Florida State Seminoles aim to bounce back from a Week 0 loss when they host the Boston College Eagles in the Week 1 finale on Monday at 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN).
After last week’s 24-21 loss to Georgia Tech in Ireland, FSU has been downgraded by most of our best sports betting sites. But does that mean there is value in backing the Seminoles in their home opener?
In addition to our Boston College vs. Florida State prediction, we offer our best Boston College vs. Florida State player props to wrap up our Week 1 college football predictions.

Thomas Castellanos Over 158.5 passing yards (-115) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Florida State should improve on both sides of the ball compared to last week. It wouldn’t shock me if Boston College, a 16.5-point underdog, is in a negative game script for much of the night.
If that’s the case, this line is too low for Castellanos. The Boston College quarterback threw for 305 yards in a two-point loss to Florida State last year, and he averaged 169 passing yards per game last year if you remove his 51-yard performance against Army.
My projections have Castellanos finishing with a modest 193 yards, which still provides plenty of wiggle room for this Over. That’s why you have seen FanDuel, one of the sharper shops for college player props, move this line from 153.5 to 160.5 over the weekend.
Best odds: -115 via bet365 | Implied probability: 53.49%
Thomas Castellanos 175-plus passing yards (+128) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
On Friday, we cashed multiple passing props on TCU quarterback Josh Hoover. I recommended that readers take Over 276.5 passing yards at -114 and his alternate passing yards at 325-plus at +250. He finished with 353 passing yards against Stanford.
I’m not just trying to victory lap. I’m explaining why everyone should explore alternate prop markets when they think they have an edge, especially early in the year when the lines are softer.
In this case, I’m taking FanDuel’s +128 offering on Castellanos to finish with 175 passing yards since I have him clearing 190. A $10 bet nets a nice $12.80 profit if he does just that.
Best odds: +128 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 36.36%
DJ Uiagalelei Under 15.5 rushing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐
I chose not to bet in Week 0, but I remember thinking the rushing yards prop for the Florida State quarterback was too high. The line was trading at 21.5, and Uiagalelei finished with seven yards on six attempts.
While the best sportsbooks have bumped his line down to 15.5 in Week 1, it’s still not low enough. I’m projecting another single-digit output from Uiagalelei on the ground.
Sacks count as negative rushing yards in college football, which certainly could help us. However, Florida State isn’t as interested in using Uiagalelei in the designed run game, especially if the home team is playing with a double-digit lead.
I’d bet this down to 14.5 rushing yards with complete confidence.
Best odds: -114 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 53.27%
