Army vs. Navy Prediction: 2025 Commander-in-Chief's Trophy Odds, Picks & Best Bet
Last Updated: December 12, 2025 2:13 PM EST • 4 minute read X Social Google News Link
The Commander-in-Chief's Trophy is on the line in one of college football's most beloved games, and my Army vs. Navy prediction anticipates the Midshipmen keeping the hardware in Annapolis for another season.
Navy is a 5.5-point betting favorite at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore for Saturday's 3 p.m. ET (CBS) kickoff, and my college football predictions are backing Brian Newberry's squad and its offensive artillery.

Navy -6.5 (-105) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Not only does Navy have a shot at retaining the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy, but a victory over Army will give the Midshipmen a second-straight double-digit win season, a feat the program has never accomplished. Luckily for Newberry, the Midshipmen are armed to the teeth with firepower that Army simply can't match.
Led by star QB Blake Horvath and slotback Eli Heidenreich, Navy's offense is among the best in the Group of Six. The Midshipmen rank 27th in the country in offensive SP+, 31st in points per game (32.5), and 24th in yards per game (434.7). This is the best rushing attack in college football, too (298.4 rushing yards per game).
Meanwhile, Army just isn't capable of keeping up (102nd in offensive SP+). The Black Knights don't have a game-changer on offense like Heidenreich and have a one-dimensional triple-option attack that doesn't incorporate the pass. And while Army has a quality defense, it's bound to break after having Horvath and Alex Tecza smash into it repeatedly.
A Navy onslaught leads to a lucrative SGP hitting
With Navy coming off back-to-back massive wins over South Florida and Memphis, the Midshipmen have covered the spread in two straight games against opponents ranked top 35 in the country by SP+ (Army ranks No. 79). If Navy covers at this price from FanDuel, a $10 bet pays an $8.77 profit.
And while Army vs. Navy game total trends imply the Under is often the best play in this game, I'm parlaying Navy to cover with the Over (38.5) for +242 odds at FanDuel. If Navy covers and the Over hits for the second straight season (29.24% probability), a $10 bet pays a $24.20 profit.
Score prediction: Navy 27, Army 20

Eli Heidenreich, WR/RB, Navy: TD Pick (+165) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
It's rare for Navy to have a pass catcher as productive as Heidenreich, who's even on the NFL radar as a pass-catching back. The slotback is a complete mismatch in the passing game and an X-factor in the Midshipmen's triple-option run game, and should be the focal point for Navy against Army.
The program's all-time leader in receiving touchdowns is a walking big-play. Heidenreich leads the country in yards per route run by nearly a full yard (4.79) and is one of two players in the nation averaging over 20 yards per catch on 40-plus receptions.
Heidenreich & Horvath SGP is the best play
He's found the end zone seven times this season and had a 52-yard TD catch against Army in last year's game. If Heidenreich scores this year, a $10 bet pays a $16.50 profit at FanDuel.
Navy's QB is quite the TD scorer himself, too, having rushed for 31 TDs in the last two seasons. So, I'm also taking Horvath to score a pair of TDs, and parlaying it at FanDuel for +809 odds that pay an $80.90 profit on a $10 bet if it hits.
