Arizona Cardinals
Currently, 94% of the betting handle is on the Cardinals going Under their posted win totals, so it isn’t surprising that BetMGM moved the total down to 8.5.
Arizona opens the season with home dates against the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams, and a road game against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2 so it's a tough start.
Additionally, franchise quarterback Kyler Murray is chasing a contract extension and No. 1 wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is suspended for the first six games of the season, so there are plenty of question marks in Arizona.
Carolina Panthers
The Panthers win total movement is specifically related to the acquisition of Baker Mayfield from the Cleveland Browns.
After all, BetMGM moved the Panthers’ Super Bowl odds and NFC South Division odds immediately after the deal.

What we don’t know, though, is the percentage of the tickets and betting handle are on the Panthers Over 5.5 wins compared to Over 6.5 wins. We just know 69% of the tickets and 86% of the handle are on the Over.
Philadelphia Eagles
Big things are expected from the Philadelphia Eagles offense this season with Jalen Hurts entering his third season. The defense also made a couple of notable additions in linebackers Haason Reddick and Kyzir White, and cornerback James Bradberry.
2022 NFL Draft picks defensive tackle Jordan Davis and linebacker Nakobe Dean could make an impact as the season progresses, too.
The Eagles also have a potentially soft opening schedule, so it isn’t surprising to see bettors running to purchase Philadelphia Over tickets.
Washington Commanders
There are two interesting lenses to look at this win total movement through.
First, there’s +140 juice in the Over 8.5 number compared to the -110 vig on the Over 7.5. And secondly, why are 65% of tickets and 64% of the betting handle coming in on the Commanders going Over either win total?
New quarterback Carson Wentz ranked 23rd in yards per attempt and 27th in completion percentage last season, so significantly improving on last season’s 24th-ranked scoring offense doesn’t appear likely.
On the other side of the ball, defensive end Chase Young is likely starting the year on the Physically Unable to Perform list after tearing the ACL in his right knee in Week 10 last season.
Admittedly, there are a number of winnable games on the schedule, but maybe not enough for bettors to continue betting Over 8.5 at BetMGM.
