A Michigan resident has won $22.4 million after placing a bet of just $0.20.
The DraftKings Casino player landed the largest casino jackpot in US history, of $22,407,248.55, playing on the Huff N’ Even More Puff slot game. It more than doubled the previous record, set in February 2025 when another Michigan online casino player won $9.28 million.
The unprecedented win marks a significant milestone for DraftKings, which has steadily expanded its online casino footprint and jackpot offerings in Michigan. Speaking about the win, Christian Bogstrand, Executive Vice President and General Manager of iGaming at DraftKings, emphasized its significance.
“Setting another record for the largest US online casino jackpot is a major moment, and it speaks to the incredible experiences we’re creating for our customers. Topping $22 million is a milestone we’re proud of, and it reinforces our commitment to delivering a best-in-class gaming experience. Congrats to the winner!” Bogstrand said.
Michigan is one of seven US states that offer regulated online casino gaming, and according to some analysts, could register a total of $2.8 billion in online casino revenue for this year.
DraftKings strikes partnership with St. Louis Blues
In a separate move that underscores its national expansion, DraftKings has announced a partnership with the NHL's St. Louis Blues, ahead of legalization of Missouri sports betting on Dec. 1.
While the company previously obtained an untethered Missouri Gaming Commission license, which means that it was not required to partner with a professional sports team or casino, the new agreement allows DraftKings to use the Blues’ trademarks, logos, and other intellectual property in marketing and promotional campaigns.
The partnership also includes increased brand visibility inside the Blues’ home venue, the Enterprise Center, where fans will see DraftKings integrations and signage. According to the company, the collaboration also emphasizes responsible gambling. A new pregame, in-arena feature will encourage fans to utilize the platform’s full suite of responsible play tools.
“As we get ready to launch our best-in-class online sportsbook for Missouri sports fans, we’re excited to deliver the fun and entertainment we’re known for in a responsible way, alongside the Blues,” said DraftKings Chief Marketing Officer Stephanie Sherman. “The Blues’ strong fan base and forward-thinking mindset make them an ideal collaborator as we look to elevate the fan experience in Missouri.”
The Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer at St Louis Blues, Steve Chapman, highlighted that the partnership was focused on safety and that responsible gambling education was a high priority ahead of the launch of sports betting.
“Through the accessibility of these resources, and exclusive experiences and events designed for Blues fans beginning in December, our work with DraftKings will help educate customers on how to play responsibly while bringing them closer to their favorite hockey team,” Chapman added.
