Las Vegas-based Circa Sports became the eighth sportsbook to expand into the Kentucky sports betting market after going live Tuesday, making good on a rumored launch thanks to a partnership deal with ECL Corbin’s Cumberland Run harness track.

Circa Sports, widely regarded as one of the best sportsbooks in Las Vegas, has been busy building its mobile brand and now has a presence in five states. Along with its expansion into the Bluegrass State, where those 18 years and older can now take advantage of Kentucky sportsbook promos, Circa Sports is available in the Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, and Nevada markets.

Enough to go around?

Circa Sports will be in a major battle for market share in the Bluegrass State. It will be up against some of the best sports betting sites in the U.S. legal sports betting industry, all of which have gotten a head start on Circa Sports in Kentucky.

DraftKings and FanDuel have combined for roughly 75% market share in the state since it legalized wagering in September 2023. Some of the other top Kentucky sportsbook apps include well-known brand such as bet365, BetMGM, Caesars Sportsbook, ESPN Bet, and Fanatics Sportsbook.

Despite the competition, there are high hopes for Circa Sports in Kentucky.

“We are thrilled to launch Circa Sports in the great state of Kentucky,” Circa CEO Derek Stevens said in a statement. “We’ve always had our sights set here as we know it is a major hub for college sports, horse racing, and more. We are looking forward to providing Kentucky bettors with some of the best odds and expertise out there.”

Kentucky sports betting market so far

The best sports betting apps in Kentucky have performed admirably since the state launched in-person betting on Sept. 7 and mobile betting on Sept. 28. Since that time, the state has taken in $1.4 billion in sports betting.

January and February - the only two months that have been reported recently - surpassed $200 million in accepted bets, with $257.1 million in January and $208.4 million in February.

Cumberland Run's other sportsbook partner, DraftKings, was the best performing sportsbook in the state in February with a $79.2 million handle.

What Circa Sports brings to Kentucky

Circa Sports has long been regarded as one of the best all-around sports betting experiences in Las Vegas. At one point, the company had been boasting “the highest limits, lowest hold percentages, and best customer service of any offering."

The company has been busy parlaying that retail success into a premium online sports betting platform.

Circa is know for some of the best pricing in the entire industry. A huge array of betting options and larger betting limits also make Circa Sports an attractive option.

Circa Sports also brings with it some unique sports wagering options including future bets in parlay and two-sided, yes/no future betting.
