how does betfair work?
i tried to find it a few times ago, but fail. but i was in a haste.

The big picture is that it is like forex trading, but for sports. You play against market (other gamblers who buy/sell bets at certain odds which change in time) and not bookie.

But you got to try it yourself to understand deeper. I am quite new at it myself, but I like it. I think if you play smart and are not too greedy, you can get steadier income.

Yeah, I suppose the usual onslaught will take place again. I'll be running a men's and women's contest again, both with decent prizes contributed from SBR. Since I'm not working this wknd, I'm going to spend a few hours investigating different formats. May just stick with the way I've always run it but may change it up a bit as well.

I'm still posting. They're always in my spreadsheet (except for yesterday when I flaked) but sometimes I don't get the chance to type them out in my thread during the week when I'm working a mod shift. I don't really play semi's and finals as it is, so I only have Kvitova -130 and Bellucci +5.5 -110 today. I'm debating if Federer +4.5 is a play because of Sevie passing away a few hours ago - not sure how affected by this Nadal will be. Will probably just skip it though.

Looking at Davy but unsure, Tricki really screwed me the other day and Im leary of taking another match with him.

Thinking of taking the same parlay as you and also Bartoli straight up for a small play.

Also considering Fish straight and another parlay with Monflis/Tsonga

Any thoughts?

If I could've got a bit better price on Fish, I probably would've taken him for a bit. I just can't take him with any confidence at these odds - he hasn't done anything yet in the clay season to warrant risking my money on him.

Bartoli - That's a bad match all around. Santonja is up and down and Bartoli is a headcase who can't string together any decent wins right now. I'm definitely staying away but if I were to bet it I'd be on Santonja.

Monfils/Tsonga - I had Tsonga in my parlay and dropped him for Gajdosova. I never really feel comfortable taking him at those odds unless he's playing against an absolute nobody but he 'should' win. Monfils is another one - he retired his last match out but if he's 100% he should have enough to get past Kei, although it'll probably be tricky. I definitely would only put a minimum amount on a parlay with those 2.

Normally I bet quite a few matches in the first round but between yesterday and today there really hasn't been much that I've thought was worth the risk. I'm still debating a few of the women but now we're getting to the stage where everyone has different intentions with the lead up to the French and it's hard to figure out what they are until you see them play their first match here. Some will be gearing up to make a run while others will find more value in spending this week practising and working on certain aspects of their game before RG. I'm basically in the same mode as I was during Sydney - I'll spot pick a few matches here and there this week but my main betting will resume again when the French starts. I normally do quite well in the first few rounds of Slams and I want to make sure my bank roll is as healthy as possible to capitalise on that again.
