thought Jerzy could get a hold, but he kept double faulting. Mentally crumbled

I have a feeling many people lost decent money live betting Janowicz during the break and then when he was serving.

I'm taking Murray in the final. Remind me of this if it looks like I may have forgotten.

Shari, you're still up? I slept after the first set and woke up to find out the result..
it seems that Murray was getting lucky if I were to believe all the comments in the thread..

Yeah I stayed up. Forgot today was Saturday and have to take my son swimming at 9. I figured if I crashed I wouldn't wake up. But no, Murray wasn't really getting lucky. Jerzy was playing out of his skin for the first set and Murray wasn't helping his own cause. Jerzy was up 4-1 in the 2nd but then way too many UEs, started getting angry, started missing 1st serves and double faulting and Murray started to eat into his serve. Nothing too surprising. He did a great job, just couldn't sustain that level.

-170/+150 djoker/murray
murray should be slight fave imo, but what do i know
i love the djoker but not sure he can deal with murray returning lots of serves and the crowd being totally insane
also djoker made a lot of errors on his backhand down the line, whereas murray has been painting lines all tournament

I put some on Murray at +150 already and am going to see tonight if the line has moved at all before putting a bit more on. I'm hoping people jump on Djoko but I'm starting to worry people will assume he'll be tired from the DelPo match (I don't think he'll be) and drive Murray's price down.

How the fukk would he be the slight favorite? LoL. Top seed is never going to be an underdog if he is in the final and he shouldn't be here either. Appropriate line considering the pedigrees of both.

Djokovic at the French Open '13 and Serena Williams at the recent Olympics are some counter examples.

Okay, sorry Rafa Nadal at Roland Garros would never not be favored my mistake nor would most human females against Serena on any surface. I should say top seed against a lower seed on a surface that does not necessarily prefer one over the other.
Point being here that there is no way Murray would be favored over Djokovic ... not on any surface right now IMO.

even if they had never played before, djokovic should be favored just based on quality of competition.
berdych and del potro > verdasco and janowicz
djokovic backers should be thankful he lost to murray at the US open, otherwise he would probably be like -250 or worse here. that victory is about the only thing, on paper, that pulls the line closer to evens. everything else leans towards djokovic.

I'm happy with either winning as I really like both players but I put a bit of money on Bartoli because I think this is her one shot to win a Slam. Not the wisest way to bet but I also think people are overvaluing the level of competition each player faced on the way to the final. You could say Lisicki faced tougher opponents but then you could flip it and say she almost lost against Serena and Radwanska. We have no clue how Bartoli will fare against a tougher one this tourney as she hasn't faced one yet. Doesn't mean she'll go busto once she does.
