You don't cheer for a double fault. Your player has done nothing to earn that applause or that point and it's disrespectful to the person serving. It's just basic tennis etiquette.

Just think of it like when someone's shooting that tech, something's happened for the player to have earned the chance to shoot it. But they still have to make the basket so when they do, people cheer. When someone double faults, the other player has nothing to do with those missed serves and gets a free point without having to do a thing. See what I mean? It's like yes it's great to get those cheap points but don't rub it in the other person's face because you did nothing to earn them. These fans are just bloody rude.
