Which cost him hundreds of dollars--all of which is pissed down the drain IMO. The money would've been better spent on lottery tickets. What makes you think Cory will obtain the RX domain? They didn't steal the money, they simply expressed an opinion on the matter--albeit one influenced by ad revenue. BTW, SBR had better hope that RX is held harmless, because there are three 5-Dimes Casino victims who would love to see a precedent set here. Best case scenario is that EZ folds and/or loses their domain. In which case, the owners start up a new wagering site exempt from the lawsuit--a cheap solution for them. I could possibly see this happening.

This case doesn't have to go to any trial. Honestly, no attorney wants to go to a trial. Threats are made every single day across the US in papers filed. Around 90% of cases never go to a court hearing. That's the honest truth. Courts want you to settle this without a hearing. Attorneys do make more money by going to trial.... but they'll even admit they don't want the hassle of a hearing.

The defense can make an offer at anytime. All the way up until the final minute before court actually. What would they offer? I don't know? They could fork over the 46k if they would like. Depends on if Cory's attorney is hungry to go after the defamation suit. It is very hard to prove "in a court of law" that someone's livelihood was defamed in all shaded areas. I believe if they offered the 46k... Cory's attorney would accept the offer and drop the case.

I can't see the RX actually showing up in court, so I'd expect there's a good chance that Cory gets the domain in a default judgment. While they didn't steal the money, they propagated several lies about Cory that are provably false by looking at the posted logs. There's absolutely nothing comparable between the EZ Street situation and the 5Dimes situation--at no point did SBR lie about the game logs of the 5Dimes customers, and at no point did SBR use a fake, nonexistent expert to offer supposed factual statements about probability that were in no way accurate.
