I said to my self, 'You dumb bitch, you are the one with an understanding problem.' Then she puts me back on hold for several minutes and comes back to tell me 5Dimes will credit back the amount as a bonus. Some shady shit if you ask me...

They've always done shit like this. What they do with their horses is arguably the most lowlife of all. They'll take bets up until post time, and if the bet wins they'll you that they go by the DRF times and thus your wager is void. However, if your bet loses it'll obviously stay. Clear shot taking that could be prevented if they so desired.

I had a buddy D (and no, it's not yours truly) call and ask what is their definitive policy, and he was told by the horse manager that they grade on a case by case basis. When he voiced his displeasure, he was told to go **** himself and he can take his business elsewhere. Apparently Tony's (the owner's) attitude has carried over throughout the organization.

No reason to play at 5D when you've got books like theGreek, WSEX, and BetJamaica out there....

Another thing 5D at least used to frequently do is leave game lines out for about 5-10 minutes after each game started. Same thing as above. If your bet wins it's voided, if it loses it stands. Clever or really low depending on how you look at it...

this crap get me wound up everytime i hear of it. 5dimes is actually one of my favorite books which angers me even more. How did u know the funds were gone? Was there any record of them being gone like in the transaction log? I never keep good enough records and probably wouldn't catch something like this.

5 Dimes is not one of your more well funded books and I would be extremely careful playing there, bet no more than $20 a game and your fine.

It is at best a C- book.

5Dimes does offer the second half line and 4th Qtr. lines during half time. I did not know it would not accept bets on each. Why do they offer them if they will come back and make them null? However, I almost never bet 4th Qtr. so it does not matter to me and I usually don't bet 2nd half except on SNF or MNF.

Most books have a buffer time for horse racing where if the race does go off within X number of minutes of the official race time it can be void. It's much different than sports betting with the exact race time being unknown until it is over.

One was a 2nd half bet and one was a 3rd Q wager. After both lost you were in the red. They say they credited the amount of one of the bets, which you were not supposed to have been able to place, as a bonus to bring you back to zero.

Their software is constantly doing things like this. It also leaves them with the discretion of choosing what the player would have won had the bets not been placed, and taking away however much they feel from there. LMB don't be surprised if next time that you make a deposit they take away the amount of that 2nd wager from your deposit (obviously your 2nd bet would have been voided had it won). I may need to talk to Tony Williams personally about 5D's failed software, horse shot-taking, and problems therein...

When they were having severe horse problems a few months ago, they voided a winning bet claiming "technical issues" and SBR wasn't able to get even an answer from 5Dimes. They are also among the most inconsistent with posttimes. Some tracks run 30 minutes or more early while others run right up to posttime, but there's no way to tell in advance. Finally, the way they grade tracks defies logic. Louisiana Downs and Golden Gate, majors for most books, are given the same wager limits as Sandy Downs, Kin Park, Sunflower Downs and Sagebrush Downs (try finding those without searching).
