    Tennis Rules - Bookmaker

Is it normal for Tennis rules to claim no action on ML wagers for Tennis if someone withdraws from the Match in the 5th set? Bookmaker is claiming the Nadal match is no action but I see on other sites after the 1st set the bet will settle. I just lost a ton of money on this rule

About half of books use that rule, half just require a set to be completed.

    https://www.bookmaker.eu/rules
"BookMaker provides all tennis wagers on the individual matches or sets. Matchup must be fully completed without player's withdrawal, incapacity or disqualification for bets to stand. If a match is rescheduled due to scheduling, weather problems, bad light, etc. then all bets will have action and all wagers will stand. All tennis future bets are placed as *"All In"* unless otherwise stated. If a player withdraws before participating, then all bets on that player are settled as a loss."

There is an old thread here with a list of a lot of books and their rule on this. Obviously double check as that is an old post. But most will still be the same.

It's an advantage for bettors being able to choose your rules for this. You want match complete if your guy has an injury cloud or 1 set complete if betting against a guy with an injury suspicion.

Assuming odds are the same, I would suggest using a book that settles after 1st set for retirements if you bet an underdog, and site that pushes if you bet favorite.

Your multiple is higher on the underdog. Your reward/risk is a higher ratio. Therefore if you assume a 50/50 shot on either side retiring - when betting an underdog you would rather a retirement settle, because if it works against you, you just lose your bet, and if it works for you you get more than twice your bet back. If I said to you that you can either not flip a coin and get $50, or have a 50-50 shot at $0 or $200... you should always pick the latter as it's essentially worth $100.
On the other hand, if you bet a favorite you would prefer a push, if a retirement. If it settles and its your guy that retires you lose $50, if it's the other guy you win less than $50 - maybe $10. I'll take the guaranteed $50 back rather that flip a coin with those payouts thank you.
Like optional says, if there is an injury on one of the participants known prior to the match than this would affect your decision making, but as a general rule I think it's a good practice with all else equal.

Im glad that Bkr rule is no bet if player get injured. Very unlikely for Us books, most of them have rule after 1 set completion ML stand. Ill give them some more action now.
