What's up with pk, -.5 line?

Don't bet much soccer, but have never seen this until yesterday. Line pk, -.5, is this simply -.5 and a 90 min draw loses? I also see o/u 2, 2.5

its called asian handicap line, common in soccer.

if you play PK,-.5 -110. Say you bet $50 on it, then you have $25 on the PK and $25 on the -.5, so if the team wins 2-1 you win the whole bet. if the scores ends 1-1, you would push half your bet and loose the other half.

Thank you. What is your opinion on these lines? Do you tend to just lose value? Would it be better to split your bet between a standard pk, and the three way line in instances?
