Liverpool remain troubled in the goal scoring department in Premier League play. They have tallied just three goals in their last five matches. At home, they remain a defensive fortress having conceded just one goal in four matches since returning from the winter break. They have scored two goals in three of those four matches. Portsmouth while a decent goal scoring outfit at home, having royally struggled to find the back of the net on the road in EPL action. They have been held scoreless in 8 of 14 matches on the road and their two goals at Burnley in their last road tilt were their first road goals on the road in four matches. Their defense has been leaky at times on the road with multiple goals allowed in half of their away matches. Still, with Liverpool struggling to find goals themselves, this one has the making of a narrow Liverpool win at home where I don't see Liverpool scoring more than twice and Portsmouth is likely to have trouble scoring at all.

You knew those Scousers had a big offensive burst buried somewhere within the hallowed confines of Anfield, it's just that there was NO indication to suggest that tonight was the night. Oh well EP, brush yourself off and move on. It just goes to show you how pathetic an outfit Pompey is, and they have no right to be in the EPL as it is. They are far too proud a side to stay down for long though, so I hope somebody with vision and respect for the organization comes in and turns things around in a hurry

Play #55: [Champions League] Sevilla vs. CSKA Moscow OVER 2.5 (+104)
Sevilla does have an important away goal heading into this one after drawing 1-1 in the 1st leg in Moscow. Still, I would expect the Spanish side with Luis Fabiano returning will be in attack mode from the start. I think seeing what happened to Real Madrid last week should be motivation enough that you can't just go for a goal and hope to hang on. Sevilla hasn't been in exceptional goal scoring form of late with just seven goals in their last five matches, but CSKA Moscow's Champions League away defense should give them hope. The Russians have allowed seven goals in three away matches with Wolfsburg and Manchester United both lighting them up for 3 goals each. CSKA Moscow has tallied six goals in those matches as well, so their scoring prowess should not be underestimated. Four of their six CL fixtures have seen the Russians score and concede at least one goal with totals hitting 3 or better in 4 of 6. I think Sevilla is probably going to progress here, but I do like CSKA Moscow to hit the scoresheet and that means it needs to be at least 2-1 for the Spanish side to avoid the upset or having to go to extra time.

1st half finishes with a flurry, two goals in the last six minutes plus. Gotta hope Sevilla pushes to win this and not settles in to go to extra time to get #3.

Yeah me neither. My pick in this match was between CSKA Moscow +1 and the Over. Liked the plus odds better as the CSKA handicap was getting backed fairly decently and the price was rising before the match.
