Play #50: [England Premier] Portsmouth vs. Birmingham City OVER 2 (-130) You may not have noticed, but Portsmouth at home has been remarkably consistent in scoring goals. They have hit for at least one in 14 straight competitions on their home pitch. In Premier League play, they have hit the scoresheet in nine straight. They have also conceded a goal in 10 of 13 at home and four straight. Birmingham City has had issues keeping the ball out of the net on the road with multiple goals given up in four of their last five on the road and at least one goal allowed in six straight matches. In Premier League play on the road, Birmingham has conceded goals in 10 of 13 overall. They have managed to score in 10 of 13 as well. 6 of Portsmouth's 7 EPL matches since returning from the winter break have featured at least two goals and the same can be said for Birmingham City in EPL play. Portsmouth has nothing to play for as they are doomed to relegation, but they have seemingly embraced a chance to just attack and play football. Birmingham City meanwhile may have a longshot at the Europa League and simply are looking to close out the season strongly. Portsmouth beat this side 2-0 in Cup play over the weekend, while Birmingham won 1-0 at home way back in August. Since both do not keep cleansheets for the most part, it seems likely that both can score today and with some luck perhaps one side can dunk home another goal.
look at that overall record, fvckin awesome eagles..........i can't stop staring at the celtics/bucks under tonight

Random thoughts would be Madrid is gonna get heavy play like Arsenal did today and probably can produce a similar multiple goal win. I think if you believe Madrid wins and advances, taking the over in that match is a decent bet. If the juice was lower, I'd side with Milan +1 against United - but it was -153 at my book. Maybe take a pop at the draw. United already did all the work in Milan, so they'll be playing I think to keep the game tight and I would be surprised if Milan lost by more than one goal if they lose at all. However, Milan has to push for a goal, so the over might be an option too. I'll probably end up playing something outside the public spotlight just because I've already seen a better deal somewhere.

Will you suggest taking the RM advance line (-175) or the ML (-360)?

I think it's either/or - whatever you feel comfortable with. If you think Madrid is going to advance, then both wagers would have to be winners, so it'd probably be wiser to go with the lower price.

Play #51: [Switzerland Super] Grasshoppers vs. Aarau OVER 2.5 (-175) The chalk is high here as this total will probably be a flat line of 3 all across the board pretty soon. I'd take it at either total, but go with 2.5 at the higher price as 3 goals could be a likely total today. Aarau is the 2nd most giving squad in the Swiss Super League as far as goals conceded on the road this season with 31 allowed in 11 matches. In four matches since returning from their break, Aarau has allowed 9 goals and scored 10 with 6 of those coming in one match against the worst defense in the league [Bellinzona]. On the road this season, Aarau has allowed multiple goals in all but three of their 11 matches with seven straight featuring two goals or more allowed. Scoring has been the main concern on the road as they have failed to hit the scoresheet in 5 of 11. Grasshopper is the 2nd most stingy defense at home, having conceded just 9 goals in 9 matches. In two matches in 2010, Grasshopper has scored four goals and allowed five, although both have been on the road. That is good news though as Grasshopper had struggled more to score on the road in the 1st half of the season than they did at home. Grasshopper has been a bit uneven at home with their offense, but they have pounded both bottom defenses in the league in Bellinzona & Aarau for 11 goals in two matches on their home pitch. Aarau has improved some with three goals scored in their last two on the road, so perhaps they can slip a goal in today. Even so, if they do not, Grasshopper has already beaten this club 4-0 at home and could easily repeat the performance today.
I'm concerned with Linz's lack of production lately. Karnten has a bad defense, but this one seems like it could stick at 3 goals or less perhaps. I don't think it's strong enough to back although it could hit, but I don't rate it more than 50-50.

The over 3 line has dropped on 5Dimes. I was going to play this but I'm laying off, EP is right on with his analysis.

Play #52: [Hollnd Eredivisie] Twente vs. ADO Den Haag UNDER 3 (-119) Twente has now played 9 matches in 2010 since returning from the winter break. All 9 matches in league play have hit at 3 goals or less. At home, Twente have kept clean sheets in 3 of their last 4 with 3 of the 4 hitting UNDER three goals and the 4th hitting at three goals when their opponent did score a goal. Den Haag has played 8 matches in 2010 with just one going over 3 goals. On the road, they have been held scoreless in 3 of their last 4. All three were 2 goal finals. With Twente possessing the third stingiest home defense in the league and Den Haag averaging only around a goal on the road this season, it seems likely that Twente can either pitch a shut out or allow one goal at worst. Twente has played 12 matches in all competitions in 2010 and only scored more than two goals once and that was a league cup match. They have also conceded just 9 goals in those matches with 7 coming in two matches. I'd look for Twente to get a low scoring win here with 3 goals being the worst case scenario and a push.

Play #53: [England Premier] Tottenham ML (-214) Spurs have refound some goal scoring form with 5 goals in their last two EPL matches. At home, Tottenham have still been off and on since returning from the winter break. They have alternated scored two goals with being shutout in four matches. They have yielded just one goal in that stretch and for the season, Spurs are one of the stingiest defenses in the league. They have conceded just 27 goals in 28 matches. Blackburn meanwhile have really struggled to stop goals from pouring in net on the road in 2010. In 6 competitions to date, Rovers have let in 18 goals. In EPL play, Blackburn has yielded multiple goals in 10 of 14 matches. Blackburn has not had much success scoring on the road with any consistency, so with Tottenham having found their scoring touch - it could be a repeat of the Spurs 2-0 road win back in December. With Blackburn having 10 losses, 3 draws and just one win on the road, anything but a Tottenham win will be a big upset here. 6 of Tottenham's 9 home wins have come by margins of at least two goals. 7 of Blackburn's 10 losses have come by the same margin. Would suggest a 2-0 scoreline is possible, but I'm just looking for a win here so I'll lay the chalk.
Also think a good one to parlay it with is Bayern Munchen if you'd rather not lay the big chalk.

nice ep..played em on the goal line...love those late ones..!
Yeah I had toyed with playing the -1/-1.5 line on that one for a long time. Would have gotten done, but would have been a nervous ending for it. Also have a parlay pending with Bayern, hoping to get that one too.
