Anchor bar is good place to go once just to say so. But Duff's is just as good and a better overall atmosphere. IMO.

Spent a week a year in hell, in that Podunk town, for 21 years. Beings I live outside of Dallas, I got to know the local area, pretty well each year, always scope out different local joints. Anchor Bar is the place where wings were first made. Jim Kellys steakhouse used to be good. Salvatore's is the for Italian, it's the summer meeting place for the New York Mob bosses and soldiers. You will not believe the gaudiness of the place, but the food is great. And of course, you always have the ballet places in Canada, Pure Platinum just across the Peace Bridge from downtown Buffalo, Mints Club up across the International Bridge. Once the casinos opened, I pretty much quit going to the ballets, spent my spare time gambling. And you got the big ditch with water running over and through it.
So, there is plenty to keep you busy for a few days. It's a blue collar town, it's western New York, so the folks there are all down to earth and Bubba friendly. Nothing like the city at all.

Won't see the JJ Gold types there at all. Fukkin Yahnkees !!!!!!!!!!!!

Love Duffs... we have two locations in toronto... i used to goto the downtown one every week for wing night... biggest and meatiest wings ive ever seen....

Don't go to the anchor bar...They suck - last time I was there I ordered extra crispy and got soggy rubbery chicken wings.....

I have heard a lot of good things about Gabriel's Gate on Allen St...This is basically the downtown area....

The Barbill Tavern in East Aurora (suburb of Buffalo) has good wings along with a different variety of flavors....
