I find it amazing that every unsavory bit of reporting regarding the US military gets publicized, though atrocities are committed by Middle Eastern governments on a daily basis and just get a passing glance because we are so used to them bombing, maiming or torturing innocent civilians. We are a nation of good people trying to do the right thing and whenever there is an act of outrageous conduct on the part of a United States soldier, it gets blown up as though we are complicit in that conduct.

To the victor go the spoils in all circumstances but ours. When we vanquish a tyrannical ruler, it becomes our problem to rebuild and reconstitute the entire country. And yet we still get villified from all corners of the earth. We are the greatest nation the world has ever known. We contribute to those in need and we do our level best to help those who can't help themselves. Are we perfect? Far from it but I will not stand any longer for our imperfections to be our legacy. We have to stand up and stop apologizing. Enough is enough.
