It was a good movie. Yes, Di Nero was a bit old for some of the earlier parts of the movie, but overall it was very good.

I have lost all respect for DiNero after seeing his crying and whining about Trump.

The guy is just another out of touch celebrity that thinks Hollywood controls the opinions of regular people.

100% of the time the book is always better. Godfather. In Cold Blood. Gone With The Wind. Dracula. The Maltese Falcon. Sherlock Holmes. Any Stephen King novel. I could go on and on. There is no way to turn a great novel into a great 1-1/2 to 3 hour movie. The Godfather came close, but it took two 3 hour movies.

This movie grows on you

It's slow moving, and it takes awhile to get used to all the makeup to make them look younger. Some great scenes though, and the last part of the movie after Hoffa dies is some of the most deep, heart wrenching stuff I've ever seen.

the book was fabulous. especially since it was true and a deathbed confession. I can tell the movie will be good but not as good as the Godfather--naturally or GF 2. But, it is interesting how these guys aged, I mean actually aged in real life, because they fit the parts better.
We have the usual suspects playing all the gangsters. It is the only time you get to see, and naturally I can't think of his name now, but it is the only type movies he does any more. He has a daughter that is also a movie star. Italian guy (naturally)

watched it on netflix for free. Of you like reading about the mob... the best book i ever read was an autobiagraphy about sam giancana that was written by his grandson with same name i think.
Best book i ever read was "the frontiersman" it was made into a series is 2018. But it talks about simon kenton,daniel boone tecumseh and others in tri state of ky,ohio and indiana

I wanted to love this movie. I really did. It was like watching sub par version of Goodfellas which is one of the best movies ever made. Di Nero narrating like Ray Liotta did, similar night club scenes and many more including time flash backs etc which weren't all that believable. They tried with make up and did a decent job but age won out. Mind you, the 3 main guys seem to be in good shape for their age. They should have used different actors for the earlier days as they did in Goodfellas.

It was ok at best.

Movie was ok. It was an hour too long. Story was ok. Pesci was a bright spot, and will win Best Supporting Actor - he was perfect, understated, no "funny how? like a clown?" scenes..... just a solid acting job. Lots of good cameos, but the de-aging process was pretty awful.

finally watched this took several days I think I started it 6 days ago like someone said bout the only thing I didnt like was characters as they were supposed to be younger were too old lol also movie should have been shorter some dialogue and scenes just really not needed. everyone always talks about goodfellas not sure why Im a casino guy that movie never gets the love it should
