Guys, guys, I must apologize; I simply do not recognise your non-serious, old western movies/actors.
You members make me sad.
You evidently have no genuine clue of the incomparable glorious western art of years gone by? And especially the actors.
Find one western actor of today that can be compared to the classic western stars of the 30's 40's 50's 60's and even the 70's?
For the members who do know exactly what I am talking about:

Hi Opt, actually he is from the 50's, yet I never considered him to be more than a one-line actor. He was/is very limited with his acting talent.
I know, we all have one of those, "things."

Good question.
My picks; Edward G. Robinson [few westerns, though]; McQueen; H.Fonda--Once upon a time...;R.Mitchem; Y.Bryner; R. Scott; Fernandez in Wild Bunch, gotta watch this guy's performance.
Fernandez gets no Oscar for that role? Crazy, biased Hollywood.
Yes, Bronson was very cool.
* Yikes, I forgot, probably the best cool actor; Audie Murphy

So many good movies were made in the 60's and 70's. A big hand for the little lady (1966) is one of my favorites.

Def my favorite. Love when he has the townsfolk paint the town red.
Unforgiven close second.

Def not the best but Open Range was underrated imo. Liked it better than any of the other Costner westerns.
