#463Like (almost) everyone else I'm shocked and saddened to hear of Tony's death.
Admittedly, this is probably not the best time and place to ask, but who owns 5dimes now? Did Tony even have 100% ownership? According to the Costa Rica Star article, Tony was 43 when he died, and according to SBR's review 5dimes started in 1996. That means he would have started the book when he was 21. I always thought it was strange that Tony was both owner of the book and the day to day manager, and I wondered if there was someone else behind it.
Nevertheless, RIP Tony.Comment -

#467Originally posted by Ghenghis KahnTony looks like one of those computer geeks, a typical internet tough guy. All his posted convos made him sound like a huge douche bag but he didn't need to die. This is the reason why you need to be very careful who you marry. In situations like this, the spouse is usually the prime suspect.Comment -

#469This is sad Tragedy. Tony was one of the good guys in the industry. He was a great business man, well respected in the industry. A loving husband and father with family and friends that loved him. There is nothing he wouldn't do for a loved one. This sickens me and I hope whomever did this gets what they deserve. RIP to a true pioneer.המוסד

#471Originally posted by nyplayer33I was banned for posting who I thought was behind it....when he was still missing...why ???? If she wired the money to a friend....um...that's pretty obvious there. I thought his wife had a huge interest in the operations of 5d.
I swear people have lost all common sense and don’t know know how to act in certain situations any longer.Comment -

#474Update on "Tony" From 5Dimes: Found Dead
Disclaimer
Do not know if this has been confirmed, but the Costa Rica Star and one other website are reporting the following:
UPDATED: January 12th 2019 William Sean Creighton, a 43-year old American known as one of the three most important sportsbook operators in Costa Rica, disappeared on September 24th at about 10:00PM, as he was leaving work. His wife, a Tica, reported him missing the following day, and the Costa Rican police began investigating the case as a possible kidnapping for ransom. The OIJ, however, reported that no one had received a request for payment of ransom, and declined further comment. (This is the same story that the families attorney gave to The Costa Rica Star as of October 25th) At...Comment -

#476Very sad. 5dimes has been such a great book over the years, and if the rumors are true that someone close to him orchestrated this, I can't say I'll ever play over there again.
As far as people thinking he was a d**k, I never got that from any of the popular stories you hear about him. He was very fair, but very stern on people he thought were trying to take advantage of him. And, guess what? A lot of gamblers WILL try to take advantage of people. So, he has/had a right to be stern.
RIP Tony.Comment -

#488Maybe because the world doesn't revolve around news surrounding offshore gambling websites. There's plenty of more significant tragedies going on in other places that the US doesn't even bother to give attention to. You think the owner of an offshore book getting kidnapped in Costa Rica is going to move the needle? Please.Comment -

#490This is a big deal in some places. We likely won't get a real story for years, by a journalist, after interviewing the relevant parties when they are safe.
There is no need for the public to know any real details, which is part of the reason there are so many mixed details. It's probably not a story unfolding, probably not like many think that is. It's already unfolded. Remember, this news is weeks old.
It's like that. I don't think we're going to be hearing from him again, guys.
Sad, SBR can ban me for saying, don't really care, this is a sad story.Comment
