Grits, have you taken any homeless drunks or crackheads into your house this week?

Don't chastise the homeless, there are many veterans that are homeless or people living paycheck to paycheck losing jobs. Instead of giving money to other countries, how about taking care of some of our own people?

Just yesterday, while I was getting gas, I saw this older lady picking cans from the trash cans. She didn't look homeless but definitely she was going through some tough time. I wanted to give her some money but I didn't want to offend her... Times are tough right now for many, let's not judge people.

what I'll never understand is homeless people staying in frigid cold places in the winter instead of pandhandling enough for a bus ride down south . they are mentally ill though

Many homeless people you will see standing with signs at busy intersections holding signs saying their homeless or out of work etc....I won't give them money. What i will do is buy some 5.00 gift cards from like McD's or other places and give them a gift card...At least they can get some food....Try it. It's small, but most of these homeless people are very grateful and thank-you for helping them out...

I've seen "casting calls" looking for pregnant teens like they're looking for contestants for "Survivor"

Farrah Abraham doing porn and "Celebrity Big Brother"
Multiple "Teen Mom's" trying out for Dancing With The Stars, The Bachelor, etc. - pretty much all the "reality" trash.

If that's not glorifying being a "Teen Mom", then I don't know what would be.....

But instead what we have are shows like "Teen Mom" on MTV glorifying how "cool" and "hip" it is to burden the system with another screaming, eating, s#itting societal drain. And then the sweet irony when that show goes to commercial and there's a PSA about giving third hand smoke to your cat.....
              Dead serious........

You do realize that people watch those shows to that see what a train wreck the girls lives are right?

I wouldn't consider it glorifying because a few them can stretch out their 15 minutes of fame.

PS. Don't worry all the kids want to be Youtube stars now anyway.

There wouldn't be so many seasons and versions of this show if it wasn't ratings gold. And I'm not worried about the ones on the shows who "made it" - I worry more about the person they brought into the world and their future. Not to mention the millions of impressionable teenage girls watching this on MTV and thinking, "I'll get pregnant, and go on this show and get famous!!!!!"
There was a time not too long ago where it was looked down upon by society to get pregnant in high school - and that was before contraception was easily available, and abortions were legal. Now, it seems to be "cool" - hey, I'll go on this show and everyone will love me!
Just not a good idea IMO.
