#7lmao... JJ bad boys always gonna get guns
the countries in which this works is because they are highly educated cultures who for most part have erradicated petty crime, and poverty is sustainable enough the gov can help...
USA far from highly educated, has a deep criminal culture in it... like it or not... USA has many great things, others not so great
is not feasible to ban guns in USA today, and wont be unless the class breach is tightened; which takes tons of time... to curve around the mistakes of the past, not feasible in the next 20 years.Comment -

#12Most sane people want less gun violence. However, I have to agree with most of what Drinker said in post #7. What do you think a solution would be jj? If the U.S. simply made guns illegal tomorrow and everyone was ordered to turn in their guns, what would likely happen? It's almost certain that any and all criminals would keep their guns instead of turning them in. Then we would be even worse off than we are now.Comment -

In retrospect Sandy Hook marked the end of the US gun control debate. Once America decided killing children was bearable, it was over.

#27Guns are just exposing and accelerating the failed human race
Since day 1 nothing but misery, pain and violence
Most of the world in disaray
No parenting in this country
Poverty, pressure, bullying, no criminal justice system etc....
Everyone out for themselves, no common good, mentally ill shunned
Guns just are the most efficient and glorified way for humans take out their rage on each otherComment -

after 1 violent incident
crazy! can you believe they changed their laws?????
Switzerland has a high rate of gun ownership and a low rate of gun-related street crime - but it may not hold useful lessons for other countries.
All healthy Swiss men aged between 18 and 34 are obliged to do military service and all are issued with assault rifles or pistols which they are supposed to keep at home.
Twenty years ago the Swiss militia was a sizeable force of around 600,000 soldiers. Today it is only a third of that size but until recently most former soldiers used to keep their guns after they had completed their military duties, leading to lots of weapons being stored in the attics or cupboards of private Swiss households.
In 2006, the champion Swiss skier Corrinne Rey-Bellet and her brother were murdered by Corinne's estranged husband, who shot them with his old militia rifle before killing himself.
Since that incident, gun laws concerning army weapons have tightened. Although it is still possible for a former soldier to buy his firearm after he finishes military service, he must provide a justification for keeping the weapon and apply for a permit.Comment -
