I live 20 minutes away & it feels like it happen on the other side of the world. The world is a big place. Sad story though & Parkland is where the “Rich” live. Neighborhood is normally a safe haven district.

#72school district about to get their asses sued off:
Law-enforcement sources told The Miami Herald that they’ve identified the shooter at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, as 19-year-old Nicolas de Jesus Cruz, a former student of the school. Math teacher Jim Gard told the Herald that Cruz was previously identified as a threat to the school in previous years. “We were told last year that he wasn’t allowed on campus with a backpack on him,” Gard recalled. “There were problems with him last year threatening students, and I guess he was asked to leave campus.” Despite what was known by teachers, superintendent Robert Runcie told reporters outside the school he was unaware of previous concerns about the student. “We received no warnings,” he said. “Potentially there could have been signs out there. But we didn't have any warning or phone calls or threats that were made.”

Here we go again with yet another shooting and we still don't have ANY sensible gun laws to prevent mentally ill or terrorist list people from getting access. That is just stupid.Comment -

#85pretty sketchy area around nice-as-shit boca (i have an aunt who lives in boca), but this article shows all around boca was becoming more "gang infiltrated", and that was a few years back.....
think about it, an alt ed program with over 3000 students???? that's a helluva lot of fuk ups doing bad shit.....
Gang violence seeing revival, BSO chief says
It started with three fights on the beach, a melee at Deerfield Beach High Schoolfollowing a football game, then another at a Packer Rattlers' game at Westside Park. Now the Broward Sheriff's Office is reporting renewed gang violence in Deerfield Beach.Capt. Robert Schnakenberg of BSO's Deerfield Beach district recently appeared before the city commission to deliver news that officials aren't accustomed to hearing.
"There has been a revival of gang activity," Schnakenberg said, adding that this latest cycle began on Labor Day.
The last spate of gang violence to raise serious concern was back in April 2011. Then Deerfield Beach High School freshman Jason Carvalho was beaten into a coma in the Pompano Highlands neighborhood. Charges were later dropped against five young men accused of instigating the gang fight but at the time Carvalho was the third person to be severely injured in gang-related incidents in six months in the Pompano Highlands and Cresthaven areas.
We have zero tolerance related to gang activity," Schnakenberg said.
In 2009, it was estimated that Florida was home to nearly 1,500 gangs with more than 65,000 members.
That same year, authorities arrested more than 50 alleged gang members accused of wreaking havoc in Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach. They were part of a group called Doom City and the bust became one of the largest in the county in recent years.

#86indeed..... not to say most of the 3,000 students at that aep can't hopefully turn their lives around, but from having to represent a couple of kids charged with crimes who were in htown's aep programs, those things are often like a f'n jungle.....
and apparently they knew this cruz punk was dangerous and shouldn't be on the campus....
says he's a former student but "was in class" earlier in the day.... wtf is up with that????
school dist. could be in trouble.....Comment -

but he could've barged in and shot his way past the initial dickweeeds (pompous teachers/admin types) and had his way with the place..... plus, there's some story floating around that he was in class there, despite being a "former student"....
having gone into such schools, all the doors except the main entry are usually locked, and you simply walk in to sign in, and I can assure you if you roll in' brandishing a weapon, most will get the fuk outta your way.....
doesn't sound like they had but one campus cop, and he was probably sitting out in his car taking full advantage of Pornhub's "free premium access on Valentine's Day" special....Comment -
