$1400 including water/electric/trash. Place is tiny. When moving across the country I focused more on finding a nice neighborhood and area. Figured would give me time to see what areas were good and bad, without making a long term commitment to a place.

Internet is $70, though about to call Charter and get internet/cable/phone for probably $60-70 or so.

I don't think your mom and dad would appreciate you selling their home without them knowing.

Damn, you guys should move to the great city of Syracuse. You can literally walk down, and get PA, then pay like 300 dollars for a three bedroom apartment. I don't do that, but shit. I can't answer. I'm disqualified as I mentioned. Yes, I'm drunk before 6 AM. Who's asking?

I'm debating. Have to pretty much detail my entire house before getting it appraised, and I just don't have the energy without the magical powers of vodka.

That's still pretty steep if you aren't in a city. Was a reality check when moving from Louisville, KY to the Tampa Bay area. Louisville's cost of living is one of the lowest in the country. For what I pay in Clearwater I could have gotten a 2000+ sq ft 4 bedroom house, and probably saved money. The same house in Louisville that would be 200k is around 600k here, if you want a house on the Gulf then you're looking at 800-900k minimum, unless you want a POS fixer upper.

For reference the house I rented in Louisville before moving was a 2 story with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, about 1700 sq feet on a decent sized lot, about 15 minutes from the city. Paid $1000 there. After we moved the owner sold it for $120k.

Makes me jealous that I'm only 28, had I been born 10 years earlier I could have jumped on the housing market. Routinely see places here with a list price of 600-700k that were bought 7-10 years ago for 150k (per Zillow)

A bit over $500 after you add the separate storage unit and extra parking for my 2nd vehicle. I'm riding out the crazy real estate market in a small town and working on my education. Want to be in prime position to scoop up property when the bubble bursts.

Yes it's not cheap but that's a reasonable price for a very nice home. However, i'm looking to upgrade soon and maybe move into the rental business so this topic is very interesting for me right now

I'd love to get into the rental business. Buy a few properties and use the rent to cover the mortgages. Possibly cut a deal to someone who can work on properties to fix them up. Then sell them later for profit. Just not sure I could deal with shitty tenants or dealing with evictions. I believe there are a few people on here that have rentals.

Possibly cut a deal to someone who can work on properties to fix them up. Then sell them later for profit. Just not sure I could deal with shitty tenants or dealing with evictions. I believe there are a few people on here that have rentals.
